How do you go about selling used RC's?

I just bought a RC on this site. Paid top dollar for it. The seller posted pics of the RC, but I find out later they are not of the current condition of the rig. When I get the car and I find the condition is far from what the pics showed. He said the rig is still new ran 2 times has minimal rock rash.

I'm not here to bash the seller.

Do you think it is missleading to post pics of a car that are not the current condition of the car you are selling?

Yes. And I think is negative feedback time. I hate when on ebay or something and the camera dates are lets say 1/04/10 and its june. I can see the date wrong but if theres snow on the ground I aint gonna buy it.

That is very misleading, expescially since you paid top dollar for it. I would suggest asking for your money back or sending it back to the seller asking foe it to be repaired free of charge.

Sounds like a Paypal dispute to me. That is total BS to show old picts of a rig when it was "new" then send a beat up rig. Dispute it and leave feedback on here. Post picts of the rig now with the picts he posted!

My personal opinion is don't sell it if you don't have pics, and the pics should be current within the last week.

I think you need to leave feedback for sure so others don't get burned. That's what the feedback forum is for.

Yep I totally agree with disputing the charges with Paypal and leaving feedback here describing the situation and pics would be a big help.

I got into the same type deal with someone on another board and Paypal sidded with him but I've still got a few that watch for him and his shady deals to make sure no one else gets burned by the same guy

The rig is not beat to shit but it is far from the pics posted and no where close to new condition. I just wanted to get a few options.

You should file a dispute if you dont feel that you got what you paid for.....but you'd better be ready to return the truck if you want your money back.

Yup, I agree, this is total crap. When I post something for sale I take pictures of the RC then put it on a shelf while it is still up for sale.

I always save the pics of anything I am buying until I get the item.

Current pics should always be available to the potential buyer and if the seller can't offer them to you, walk away.

I agree with Kenny as well...post the pics he used along with yours of the rig as you received it.

I've gotten into the habit of photo documenting everything that I buy and sell; you have to CYA.

Same, I take current pictures and give an honest description.

To the OP, start with asking the seller for a refund, in private. Give him a chance to make it right first, and if he refuses start a dispute.

It's a little to late to ask for a refund. I got it and was a little bumbed about the condition. But went ahead and started to clean it up and start to make it more my style. The further I got into it the more pissed I got. Stripped screws, alot of rock rash, jerry rigging, rust and just plane wear. I will mark this up as a learning experience.

The rig is going to get beat up but I would have like to have been the one to do it.

You should leave feedback though, this helps the rest of us to not get burned in the future. I believe the feedback forum is an obligation in a transaction, good or bad. Even if a guy has 100 awesome feedback posts, I still post so people know he's still awesome. I have never had an issue on here, but I am picky about who I buy from and if anything ever seems weird or shady I back out. I also prefer to buy from star holding members, it just means to me they are a little moe commited to the site and in general.
