How do you know Tread Direction?

I bought some Amazon Beadlocks for my truck. While there, I also decided to try out some Injora Super Swamper knock off tires (TYRES, lol). Now you can Laugh at me if you like:lmao:, but these are the first replacement tires I have bought for my second hand Crawler, and they are a lot softer than the Stock tires on my SCX10iii and I think they are gonna be OK.

I do have a point to this post, and Ill get to it right now.

How the heck do I decide which direction the Tread Pattern is supposed to go?
With my driving skill, it may not matter, but my OCD will not not relent until I know:lmao:

If they are like these Super Swampers,
They are Uni-Directional. Goes on either way, doesn't matter.

If they are like these, The point forward.

Sometimes I wonder too.
Another tire style points forward on one side, and backwards on the other side.
Who knew?

They are EXACTLY like those.....Thanks!....Glad it doesnt matter,,,,I wasnt looking forward to re-doing all those beadlock screws.....

the rocks i crawl on those chiwampers do pretty good but in my opinion the stock axial tires are really good and will out perform those chiwampers on about 98% of the terrain
the chiwampers work great at first then the sticky layer wares off then they suck but if ya keep burnen them on the rocks the lugs will start to ware down and feather on the edges thats when they start to work but as soon as you smell water there done they dont like wet


i mostly use the chiwampers as inserts for larger tires instead of foams

Unless the tire is expressly directional-- that is, marked with an arrow, like Canyon Trails-- then run them in whatever direction works best for you in your area. Tires like JConcepts Tusks are a great example, I've run them "both ways" on different rigs.
Tires like the Super Swampers fall into that category as what I would call semi-directional. If you take care to mount them as pairs, you can test whether you want the outer lug pointed forward or backward. The pic in Post 2 is outer lug forward.
Then you have outliers like the Duratrax Scaler, where the only part of the tread that's directional is the sidewall lugs. IME, what's in this picture is backwards. They work noticeably better with the tips of the "teeth" pointing forward.
