hey folks, as some you know Im living in Baja, Mexico on the desert zone and beach at the sea of cortez side, not too far away just 3 hours drive from the US border.

well 4 months ago I planted some grass in my small garden from leftover roots and grass cuts from a golf course, I really dont know the name of the grass but is grass for golf course and its supposed to be always shiny green when is irrigated regulary as it is on the golf course.
well grass now covers a 17ftx12ft area and when its tall is really green and healthy but when I cut it with my electric grass trimmer it gets browny and ugly at certain zones and the rest lost the beautiful green tone it had before trimming not too bad but doesnt remain shinny green, but after a week or bit more the grass is greener again, the taller it gets the greener it gets but.. this is supposed to be really low cut, like in the green zone of a golf course.
it looks like the grass doesnt like the be cut with a trimmer or something because this have happened in the last 3 cuts (every 2-3 weeks), so I now wondering what can I do, garden its too small for a gas grass mower with blades and its too big for cut with garden grass scissors.
I went to the same store of the golf course and buy the same fertilizing as the golf course and use it as often as them (the guy at the gardening store told me all that).

so, any comments or tips?

some funny answers there..

for the folks that are serious, not really looking for the golf course look, just want to be able to mow the lawn and keep it as green as it is when 5" tall, looks the the trimmer for mowing it is not an option.
that last option of the old-school blades was my first option but every store have that model as discontinued and no longer for sale, the only place where I found it was at Sears but they have it value like if it was a classic car, but that could be an option to try if I found it cheaper than $90 dls

well moving away from the desert is not an option in the short future, but I can try to cut bit taller next time for sure.

I will try to install some wheel to my trimmer and see if I can change the cutting height of the plastic blade wire, or sell it and get the smaller walk lawn mower I can find and cut the edges with scissors.

Yea it sounds like your just cutting it to short most lawn mowers you can ajust the hieght on the wheels. I leave mine at 3 3/4" inchs. hope it helps

like any part of mexico you don't drink the water from the fauset, why? well for one, it has salt in it.
maybe the water has somerthing to do with it, try" bottled water ".
I drink bottled water all the time and my hair looks beautiful , even when I cut it.:ror:

Get a couple of these! They will mow and fertilize the lawn for you, and when you father-in-law comes for a visit you can grill one of them. "thumbsup"

hmm this really helps, mine was cut to 2" tall, so there is my problem, my trimmer is really simple so no adjust the height, like I said, I will try to add some wheels or something to add a stopper and dont go never below 3.5"

thanks
