i have a yeti xl with a hobbywing 150a esc & 2200kv motor. servo is a hitec hs-7954sh. receiver/remote is a flysky gt3c.

the servo box says 6v or 7.4v. on the hobbywing 150a esc; it says 3a @5.75v

i was looking at a hobbywing ubec but they seller canceled the auction.

so what am i looking for to get the most out of this servo.

i saw a dr mad thrust ubec with a on/off switch that has an output of 5v or 6v.
would i need a higher ouput BEC to get it close the servo rating of 7.4v?

That Dr thrust BEC is neat, but underpowered. I use it to control lights, as it has an aux switch that can be controlled by a spare channel on your RX. It's only rated for 3amps, which isn't much.

The castle 10 amp BEC is the best bang for buck BEC.

You can find them most anywhere for about $20-$25.

Search the Electronics section of the forum to see 6,479,432 threads on BEC's "thumbsup"

what settings did you use for the castle bec?

what would you guys recommend for my setup?

servo: hitec 7954sh
esc : hobbywing 150a

thanks

7.4 use all the Oz you paid for! Castle bec is top shelf. Check out Holmes hobbies he will waterproof and program it for you.

Feed it straight from a 2S battery if you want/need to get the most speed/torque out of it at a minimum cost.

I run the same servo on 6.0V from a cheap Turnigy BEC and am happy with that. (Use that BEC model for everything where I need a separate BEC!)
That should give you some more life time out of it.

I got a used castle and link on ebay. Should be here in a few days.

Do you just set the voltage? Or do you have to set amps as well?
