HPI converts a WK to a crawler

Thanks everyone, we had fun doing it up. There are two more parts to come, each moving progressively toward a competition class crawler.

:)

Thanks. there is more to come, next is stage 2. this truck is all stock besides the suspension upgrades that we have shown. :)

That was a great write up, that will be an awesome link to refer people too! Should definetly be in a sticky or a sticky itself for new comers to read.

Great job guys.

**edit**
Are you guys going to do an aftermarket chassis for stage 2 or 3? Which one if you are (just curious)?

man i wish i had seen this when i first got my WK..!! but i went the other route and did alot just by trial and error... very cool write up WITH PICS..!!"thumbsup" "thumbsup" "thumbsup"

Very cool build. The part numbers and budget are very helpful.

The truck seemed to lift the front left tire ALOT. Is this because of the weight distribution or is this due to soft suspension and torque? Is it managable?

Can't wait to see stage two!!

i noticed that front wheel lifting up too. but then i realized that if you probably did something to the right rear shock it would help it out. and then another thought was with putting a servo mount on the axle which would put some weight on it.

Just my .02 cents

Remember this is a stock W/K so there is plenty of room to set up the shocks. adding a spacer on the right rear of the truck will keep it from lifting as easy. i didnt mess with any of the suspension, I just went out and Crawled. the next part will get it more dialed. Stay Tuned

Nice job guys! "thumbsup"

Except for the Bluetooth phone ear piece thing.

newb

I am new to crawlers but not to rc, so I have a lot to learn. I think this site is the most informative I have seen. I got my WK about a week ago and it is a blast. Soon I will start converting it to a crawler and this is just what I need. Thanks:shock:
