HPI MV12603 Maverick STRADA MT Evo 1:10 4WD 2.4G Brushless RC Monster Truck.

I was looking for a fast Monster that could crawl a bit, without a lot of work.
Found this on evil-bay. Seems like a quality unit [?]. I wanted to check the
usual RC on-line stores for prices and features. No can do. It seems this
model is only available in Europe. I found a source in England but can't
get even close to the cost of the ebay offer.

Sooooo I bought it. It's coming from Kiev, Ukraine

A monster truck is a monster truck not a crawler but you mite be able to crawl a little if you locked the front and rear gears to make a full 4wd but you still will have the problem of front and rear suspension.

I should have it in a couple of weeks. If it doesn't crawl even a little bit, I'll just pose some pictures and post lies.
It looks like it could benefit from taller tires, and look better too.

I hate to be the one to break it to you, but you just bought a rebranded truck based on the hsp/himoto/ exceed infinitive platform. Search " maverick strada clone" and you'll find the pictures search around for info on hpi UK and you'll find that they rebrand quite a few of their vehicles for the European market

I am so tired of these Made in China bs crawlers and trail rigs simply doing what China does best...COPY SOMEONE'S SUCCESS. Then they dumb it down in cheaper quality parts including screws even! Making not only their country continue to face the stereotype of Chinese products being inferior and just plain poor quality.

And then they go flooding market like its Y2K with sweatshops pounding out toys for lack of better terminology of these RC cars. Sure you can somewhat upgrade their poor parts to slightly stronger poor parts....but at the end of the day it ends up in the trash can and a frustrated hobbyist that may never want to buy from a reputable company that specializes in off road rigs and crawlers.

Sad story is everyone's seen on eBay those scx10 clones all dolled up in shiny parts and they price them at $300-$400 and people STILL buy them....I bet whatever material is underneath that polish I can bend with my bare hands.

First it's all made in china...... get over it.

Also you want to talk about copy? Axials transmission is a copy of an associated stealth transmission....... their gear sets and locker are just modified hpi rs4 differentals.

And then the yeti... just copied and screwed over every vendor on here that made a ifs kit.

Really who cares? Lol

This copy costs less than a redcat rs10.. I'll run it around until it goes up in smoke or breaks or whatever. No big deal.

Sorry man, I didn't mean to make it sound like it's a clone and stir up stuff, because it's not. It's made and designed by HSP then sold under their brand as well as rebranded under the different distributors' brands (hpi uk, himoto, exceed, ftx etc...) I just suggested using the word clone in the search since people tend to jump to that conclusion all the time, so it's the easiest search term for multiple brands of the same vehicle. So alexchen's rant doesn't apply here at all.

the upside is that parts are available as well as hop-up and aluminum parts from overseas, so if you don't mind waiting on shipping, you can keep it running for a long time.

I assumed you didn't know it was a rebranded vehicle, so that was why I posted up earlier.

Last I heard its in NewYork headed this way. Various European utubes I saw show it may be really fast.
A monster that can both crawl and drift [maybe a little] for a throwaway price? ok

I don't know how it will crawl with the open diffs, but I had one of these (same platform at least) and the drive train is pretty solid. Only problem I had was the alum shock towers, but these look different with the dual shocks and should be good to go. The plastic was flexy and took hits well. Have fun with it!

That esc will sh*t the bed sooner than later, drop 20 bucks on a hobbywing 1060br if you plan on staying brushed.

I was thinking that it was as I was building it. But I don't think it's a copy I think it's an actual Stealth unit w/ a different diff. Looks like it will be a fun truck!

It's not an AE Stealth transmission, it's a slightly modified Axial clone/copy of the early 2.60 Stealth. The AE Stealth in that configuration was never available with metric bearings or 5mm output shafts. The motor plate screws are not in the same locations and the transmission mounting pattern is different. Metric bearings didn't start until the T4.1/B4.1/SC10 series and by the time they got to the T3/B3 series the Stealth no longer had four screws on the bottom. Two of them now attach to the rear bulkhead from the top. The top shaft is also different. AE doesn't use a pin to secure the top shaft gear, it appears to be heated and pressed onto the shaft.

The only part that will swap from the 2.60 AE Stealth to the Axial transmission is the bottom diff gear, but you have to use Axial diff halves.

Arrived today. From the former Soviet Union, an area once controlled by the Second SS Panzer 'Reich'. In good condition and ready to go.

My apologies to almost everyone. This good lookin unit will NOT crawl. TOO low, no brakes, slow to engage reverse, unlocked diff and a
few other things I am ignorant of. One thing that I wanted - It is crazy powerful, very fast, control is difficult. I'm going to work on that.
My original decision last year to crawl was a good one. P.A.

Powerful-fast, goes thru grass well, however, just dont crawl.
Sucks a 5200 nimh flat in no time.

News flash: Seems to be a bit of a clone of the redcat volcano.
