I have an HPI Sprint 2 Flux mustang that has been sitting around collecting dust so I figured I would convert it into a drifter. It has a Castle Creations Motiv ESC and 5700KV brushless motor and with a 2s 7.4v lipo it is crazy fast. I locked the rear differential and added a HPI Vertex Toyota Drift body, Yokomo Light buckets, and a RC4WD led light system I had laying around. I have some 26mm ABS drift tires on order but they are in the mail still. Iwill post a drift video once they get here.

Here is a video of the LED lights http://vimeo.com/12070948

And some pictures...

nice car! I ran a TC5 for awhile but it was $35 for a set of tires and i went through a set each time i drove.

They sure are fun if you have a place to run them.

You can buy ABS tires on Ebay for $10.00 for 3 set of tires, I know some people think they are to slippy but its not how fast but how good u can drift "thumbsup"

Parking Garage, School playground, and Industrial parking lots are a plenty where I live.

Thanks for the comments! Got any pictures of your TC5?

they are pretty old. I sold the car after my Novak GTB turned into a smoldering pile of orange goo.

Nice looking ride! Man that is a HUGE capasitor! That sucks your ESC fried, Maybe some day you will get back into drifiting? I tend to hold onto my RC's because I am always going back in forth between crawlers, scalers, slow boats, fast boats, stuff the flies, motorcycles, on road, off road and so on.... That way I never have to rebuy something I already had

just get some traxxas wide hexes, that will fix it if it isnt wide enough. if it is too wide then shave down the wheel hex.

Thanks jwalker! I ended up running them as is and it's just asthetics for now.

I have been interested in drifting RC's for years but always read it was hard to master and either you could drift off the bat or your couldn't and were in for a long road of learning. Well all my years with RC's has paid off because my first run was amazing! I was pulling off long sweeping drifts in both directions and worked my up to small tight drifts as well. I had a blast and I am happy it was so easy, now mind you this was an open playground with semi-fresh black top and I am sure I am a long way from a tight track, but man it was fun! "thumbsup"

it definetly makes a difference when you have aclosed track, just like crawling. you do just about anything on an open layout but as soon as you add gates and barriers it is a totally different world. best of luck.

Thanks! I am sure I can master this, just like anything in life it takes a positive attitude, hard work, and dedication. See you on the track "thumbsup"
