Anyone use the trinity comm lathe? I hope it works well... the spare motors and such can be used on my son's T-4's and pratice for me turning comm's"thumbsup" also the putman brushes and springs... anyone used them before? I figure with all the extras I didn't do to bad... heck if I can just make my lathes perform better and last longer I'll be happy with the deal"thumbsup"

I had the same lathe . If setup properly it will give you a pretty good cut . I would suggest using the diamond bit instead of the carbide bit . It will give you a smoother cut .

The main thing to do is make sure the tip of the bit is at the center line of the rotor . The directions should tell you how much to shim it . Doing this will give you the smoothest cut . Also when cutting go nice & slow . Another tip is to cover the com with permanent marker . Doing this will let you know when the tip of the bit is just barely tuching the com .
