Wow a lot going on for the last few weeks in this thread.

Let me get a couple things answered:
1. Vaterra isn't going away anytime soon. At this point, we will see how the run along with Axial. I'll admit you never know, if the bosses make the business decision to kill it then it will happen, in the mean time, that is not the plan and the Ascender will be around for quite some time.

2. We have a couple releases for Vaterra this later this year with the another Ascender being one of them. It will have some new features but is not a "2.0" Sorry no more hints and I can't give you any more timelines other than it will be in 2018

There's a video on Facebook with a rep showing off the truck. Rear link risers, full size battery plate, plastic trans gears, plastic links, and a new body.

Oh, and a $70 price drop.

The rep did say it was essentially still the same truck (boo!), so hopefully the 2 upgrades can be applied to the earlier trucks, lol

Ya, the vid is still up on FB. Some kind of intro event - National Retail Hobby Stores Association - it was sitting next to a new Axial Blazer and some on-road cars.

The cross-ways battery tray makes zero sense to me but I'm sure a lot of folks will like it, especially for cheap 3S lipo power.
The link relocators are fine, nothing you can't get in aftermarket. Otherwise a body and plastic links? Oh. [shrug]
