Hey yall. Were going to start having comps in the Indianapolis area again!:ror:

Now, I know there a few of you out there with comp trucks sitting collecting dust. Were gonna change that. "thumbsup"

Introducing Indy Rock Crawlers! A new club where guys/gals who like building/playing with rc crawlers can meet up and hang with other like minded folks.8)

Now the plan for now is to meet up on or about the last Sunday of each month starting in march. March 31 @ 4wheel parts on east Washington street in Indy.

Now Ive looked at the existing sircc schedule and the Scale series thats posted here, and the last Sunday of the month shouldn't interfere with any of the posted local events at this time. Now, if we need to move a comp date we can. I know Bill and Jon haven't posted the scale series dates yet so we may have to adjust to that.

I'm thinking we will run 2.2 pro rigs and 1.9 or shafty class if theres interest.

Theres already a scale game in town so thats covered."thumbsup"

Locations we will probably use,

4 wheel parts in Indianapolis.

Arbuckle Park in Brownsburg.

Cataract falls park Over by cloverdale off of I70.

Falls of the Ohio in clarksville Ind. Less than 2hrs out of Indy.

Im working on another location in Zionsville. Details will follow. :)

Schedule for now as follows.

March 24 at 4 wheel parts

April 21 at arbuckle park in Browsburg. I know, not the last Sunday as ECC is the last weekend in April.

May 26 at cataract falls. This location is kinda dependent on the water level so we will play it by ear. Should be fine tho."thumbsup"

Drivers meeting around 9:30 courses open about 10:00
USRCCA rules apply:mrgreen:

I will post more dates soon. Any questions or concerns post up. I'm sure Ive missed some details or something. Thanks, See ya on the rocks.:)

I know you can't please everyone. Sundays are bad for me since I have church in the morning and youth services in the late afternoon/evening. I'll make what I can though.

I understand that. Handi has a point tho. Some will want Saturday some will want sunday. We will run the first few on sundays, then see what the general feeling of the group is. If more folks want Saturdays, we will change it.

Cheep grocery's rock! Is there a chance of getting your day off switched to Sundays? There could be other benefits to that as well. :)

Hell yeah.:mrgreen:Sounds like a plan. how far is that from Indy?

Just about 2 hours. I'm also working on expanding my "pile" at my house. I've got a mix of field, river (bleh) and busted concrete. Should have a pretty good setup once I get it moved and stacked. So later this Spring/early Summer it could be a weekend thing for you, Randy and anyone else that wanted to trek up here. Hit Hanging Rock, camp somewhere, hit my place...whatever.

any suggestions on a comp crawler for a rookie that wont break my bank account?

Best advice I can give ya is to do research on here and figure out what out what you want before you spend a dime."thumbsup"

Ok. Now that thats said, The best deals are going to be found in the classifieds here on rcc. You need to have a star or at least 30 posts before you can see it though.

Theres advantages to moa trucks vs shaftys. But if you followed my previous statement you already know that. :ror:

If your gonna do a shafty IMO a ridgecrest wouldn't be a bad place to start. Plan on eventually replacing most the stock stuff. Just like any other rc.

As for a moa there are a couple viable options. A Axial xr10 (discontinued) but there are still plenty of hop up parts availble. Or, A EnRoute berg(also discontinued) but with the resources of the vendors on RCC, still a strong contender. Both can be modded to your hearts content."thumbsup"

Although both rigs are discontinued there is still a STRONG following for both rigs. sometimes overlooked is the RC4WD Bully axles. Strong as sh*t. Relatively cheap and parts are available.

I might know of a guy that has an xr10 for sale as well. Just depends on your price point. "thumbsup"
