Sorry about this stupid question but I usually buy the esc-motor brushless combo when I replaced the electronics in my slash...for my crawler I have plans of running the xl-5 along with possibly a brushless motor and 2s lipo battery..is this possible? If so, what brushless motor are you guys using with the xl-5?"thumbsup"

Nope, the XL5 will only run brushed motors down to 15 turns.

Thanks!

One more question, I have a leftover juggernaut gearbox which can run dual motors...is it bad to run dual 45t motors in a crawler? Will it have benefits or is it more negatives than positives?"thumbsup"

You can do it but the question is why. Better to change the motor and voltage to get the desired result.

You can, absolutely! The xl5, was a model designation... not necessarily just the esc model. .... eat your heart out necropost revivers.

In 2011 it was only brushed, it's 2025 and the latest version hasn't changed much.

Traxxas XL-5

The original question was can it run a "brushless motor", the answer is still no. It also was just a thread bump, not a question or anything.
I've always been under the impression that it is bad forum etiquette to bump an old thread like that for a statement sorta thing.

It's all good in this neighborhood though brother. I honestly mean nothing by it :)
