i just got a used emaxx that was frying batteries. I got set of used motors, esc and a set of batteries. i swapped the esc and hooked batteries up. havent got to run it as i need adapters to recharge batteries. i tested it some and it has no reverse and on controler throttle seems back wards. probably something really simple but rather then fighting to figure it out wanted to ask.

I would think that you need to reverse either your motor leads or reverse the throttle switch on your radio. on the reverse issue. Most speed controls come with a few presets. the race preset doesnt have reverse. You may wanna search for manual on programming the esc.

OH. Just a heads up. On this site the last thing you wanna do is let it be known that you didnt feel like looking something up and instead just asked. I was a newb on the site once too. Believe me you will get your ass handed to you. "thumbsup"

Are you stopping your run right when your batteries dump, or are you running it until it can't move? This is the #1 cause of fired batteries in the E-Maxx.

i bought it used with the battery frying issue so not sure how he drove it. I havent went threw a set of batteries as i need to order a battery charger. So should you run them down 100%? I will look into the esc race setting part.

So should you run them down 100%?

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! You will see a noticable drop in speed during your run, this is when your batteries have dumped, this is when it is time to stop the run. This was likely what was killing the batteries.

ok i will try that then. just ordered the ends for my battery charger so can charge them. will keep you posted
