It's a start!

We need much more of this. If you can't get your crap together in four years then you need to do better. I love the guy complaining about no jobs in 3 years. Seriously, go to McDonald's if you have to, the local grocery store, something. Crap, someone is always hiring. Then they senator going on about how they're taking away a tool for the poor. No, they're taking away a crutch that is rampantly abused.

I don't feel sorry for able bodied people who sit on their butts and complain and ask for handouts.

Complaining about their being no jobs for the welfare recipients, while at the same time compaining about cutting taxes on business so they can create jobs?

So frustrating to try and figure out the thinking of those who support the welfare state mentality.

Its because they get less money working at places like that, than sitting at home...

Yeah, at least the first lady was trying. I can understand if you simply arent qualified for a job that pay enough to feed your family, however, she didnt look like she was starving.:ror:

That second guy made me sick. "No jobs for three years and we have a third kid on the way".....here's a hint.....DON'T HAVE MORE KIDS IF YOU CANT FEED THE ONES YOU HAVE!!

You know its hard for me to feel bad for someone that can not find work.

I was there a year and a half ago for a year and a half. Applied over 600 applications and finally got sick of it and decided it was time to go where the work was.

half of this country is waiting for the construction business to start back up and it isn't going to for a very long time. Who is gonna build with so many vacant homes? No one.

half of the country out of work not wanting to do anything but file for benefits and extensions don't want to leave their homes or family to get work either.

Im sick of the handouts and welfare abusers.

States like Illinois next to the border have idiots that file in 3 states and they are so overlogged with people collecting that there isnt anyway for the gov. to check or follow them all. Then you get the people that Hyphenate their names to beat the system as well.

If I remember during the Bush era, It was passed in a law that welfare would only be 3 years long. What happened to that? Nothing!

I said it before and I will say it again. I am sorry if you lost your job, I truely am sorry that this country is messed up and has forced you to loose your work because of description or because its cheaper to go out of country.

But your out of work and you cant collect forever. If you cant find work. Then go to where it is.

These Oil companies in Williston North Dakota are Hiring, Hiring, Hiring. They will pay for training, they will feed you and home you. It may not be this great lifestyle you dreamed about or you wont be able to go home every night to see your kids or wife. But if you want a job, Go online and apply with these oil companies. Most of You will make more money that you ever did in your last job.

One of my closest friends left Illinois 3 weeks ago and got hired on with an oil company as a roughneck, They sent him to 2 days of training. He is living in a man camp and making 2 times what he made as a construction hand for a union company.

Even the town needs employees. Walmart is hiring register people for $12.00 hr. stockers for $15.00 hr. Applebees is hiring at $12.00 to serve food. $13.00 hr. to change oil, $12.00 an hr. to work at a lumber yard. $12.50 to clean hotel rooms and some of those places will not only hire you to do that, but house you too.

I see it weekly, people come there with campers and pay to camp at a site and live there while making money.

If you are in desperate need of a job or know someone that does and you are an able hand that can work and not make excuses. There are jobs!

"Dude has been unemployed for 3 years, and can't support his wife and 3 kids, plus one on the way."

Here's an idea, STOP FAWKING!

If you haven't had a job for 3 years you have no right to be bringing another mouth into this world for someone else to feed.

I am so sick and tired of people breeding just because they are too lazy to pull out. If you don't have the means to raise and support a child don't make one.

Here's another idea, if you have sat on your ass for 3 years and there are no jobs in your area, get a bus ticket and move your ass to somewhere that there are jobs.

Sad part is alot of these sleeze balls have kids so they can get free money.

It's amazing the amount of free stuff they can get; food, housing, childcare, medicare, schooling and sometimes job placement.

I know of "unemployed" families who ultimately have more then I do because they use the system.

Reading stories like the above on CNN makes me disgusted when I see stories like the following:

angeli-foods-receipt.jpg

Crap, I wish I could afford to eat like that!
Quit your job, have seven more kids and sign up with the government!

Seriously, the article says the guy had intentions of selling the food for a profit. He is now facing fraud charges....

i live in IL. last week i was at the grocery store and the 300# lady in front of me had a cart full of the best food you could get and used food stamps to pay for it all, and then she had the gall to brag that "why should i work when i can get everything for free". i just wanted to kick her in her fat ass. me and the wife pinch pennies everyday just to get by and then you see trash like that just playing the system. just makes me sick.

yup, when I was in college I bagged groceries and the food stamp people always ate the highest priced food. I remember a lot of steaks and Juicy Juice... I hated them at the time because I was going to school full time, working 30 hrs a week and literally starving... while they were pumping out babies and living high on the hog.

But now... I have several crawlers and food :flipoff:

oh yeah, and they were very rude to me :ror:

It took a while but I finally wised up and got a job at Pizza Hut... I was able to feed myself, my room mates and all the homeless people that I passed while walking home... The managers were great and would "let" us make a bunch of extra personal pan pizzas right before close, then we could take them home if no one bought them "thumbsup"

Hoorah. Looks like the shit finally hit the fan. "thumbsup"

Businesses could create jobs right now, but they aren't. For the past two years there hasn't been much growth, and its not because of taxes.

Its because they get less money working at places like that, than sitting at home...

Why work 40 hours @ minimum and have to pay for everything when you can sit at home, watch tv, eat free food and get free medical and still make the same amount of money?

Yeah, at least the first lady was trying.

Listen closely, she said "I just want the best for my kids, and I can't do that without help."

There is a difference between caring for your kids and providing them with "the best".

My kid doesn't have "the best", does that mean I should get assistance so he does?

I think a big part of it is that there is no interconnection between welfare and job agencies across the country, or even across the state in some cases.

If someone who was out of work walk into a job placement center and could see available jobs outside their local area, they'd probably jump on it, especially if there weren't many opportunities in their town.

When I first moved out here the job I was supposed to have was given to someone else, so I stopped by EDA (Arkansas state employment agency). There was a 3 ring binder full of employers looking to hire. A few months later I went in again and that binder had been reduced to 3 or 4 pages stapled together. Thats a pretty grim sight, but they only offer local leads, not countywide, or statewide. Would I have traveled to the next county for a job? Yeah. Would I have traveled to the next state? Sure, its only 20 miles or so...

Problem is most people wont work for minimum wage or start at the bottom and work themselves to the top. To many people today are afraid of manual labor.

Seriously, the article says the guy had intentions of selling the food for a profit. He is now facing fraud charges....

ALLOT of that goes on. It's quite popular around this area, and probably everywhere else. People trade foodstamps and/or the food they buy with the free handouts for drugs....or they sell them and buy dope with the cash. Pretty sad really.

Mandatory drug screens for people who receive handouts/governments checks or child support might help a little. Most people can and would find ways around that. Passing a drug screen isn't really rocket science.

What we need is more factories and jobs that won't be forced out of the country and lower/limit free handouts severely. Make it so it's actually better for someone to go flip hamburgers or work for minimum wage.
