It's about F-ing time

i am not against drug test at work, they are intended more to ensure you are not under the influence while at work. i just wish employers would use saliva test instead of urine. saliva only works for a few hours, urine for hard drugs is around 48 hours marijuana is 1-4 weeks depending on circumstances.

Same goes for those who use it to gamble at the casinos !!!! They don't deserve sh!t !!!

I would support a McDonalds test over this.
Hummm.....last I checked, it isnt a crime to buy a Big Mac. Not even to buy 40.

So, wait, you want people to be open minded about your bad habit, but you want to be able to condemn fatties for their bad habits? Seems a bit.....what's that word....oh right, hypocritical.

I've seen welfare fraud and abuse first hand.

IMO, extended welfare is a disease! I've seen it spread from generation to generation, it breaks down the family(Daddy doesn't have to worry about taking care of his responsibility when the Gov. will reward the Mother and Father for poor decision making), and it destroys personal initiative.

There is so much fraud and abuse of the welfare system, that it's sickening! But it's like that in almost everything run my the Government.

Let the great argument of how heart-attack inducing food is worse than psychological-altering substances commence!
How about: No job = no cable TV. That'll get 'em back to work in a hurry.

Who watches shows on TV anymore? I can find the entire series online for free.

I have been saying that for friggin YEARS ............. but dont hold your breath, the bleeding heart libs will find a way to get around it by calling it a disease or some crap.......

Unfortunately I believed you nailed why it will fail.

If there was extremely short term testing technology available Id be all for that. The fact that most drugs stay in the system for a prolonged period of time, say compared to food, it tends to blur the line of consumption as far as "tests" go.

IMO, you can tell when someone is "on" something pretty easily. Smell, apearance, body movement, i.e. not normal behavior are pretty obvious to the avg joe.

I like where you are going with this, but have you actually tried to look for and attend interviews for a job while holding down another full time job?

Yeah, I have, and it's not easy at all. Perhaps you could have 'flex' time every week once you reach the '40hr/week' requirement. Perhaps 5-10hrs that must be logged for interviews. There could be a way to work something out. Also, if you are giving 40hrs/week for community service, there is a chance that service could lead to another job by opening new doors because you work hard and stand out from the others. It's just an idea.

i want damn drug testing in my college, I swear I can not stand one of my business analysis classes because this one douche bag comes in late every single day reaking of weed. Its i so bad i can't even concentrate. I have nothing agianist what people do in their own time but i do have a proplem with inconsiderate assholes like this guy. I mean this guy sits 15 feet away from me and it smells like i shoved a joint in each nostrile.

end rant.

I think if they have over 2 kids, a vasectomy/tubes tied would be more beneficial. All these damn welfare babies being born just to collect a bigger check pisses me off.

I dont agree with that either. Completely irrelevant to the subject at hand (the job). And you can scrutinize it all the way down to a cup of coffee or going to church 4 times a week.

I have absolutely nothing against people who decide to not use drugs soley on the fact that they have a job that requires a test; people who used to, or would if they didnt have to be tested. I feel a bit sorry for them if anything. Kind of like oppressed people...but again, its all a choice.

i don' t think its irrelevent at all. why not most jobs require you to be drug free. so how is someone going to get another job if there on drugs.

exactly its all choice, but do you want to shell out your money so some druggy cracked out people can get high all day. were not talking about pot users. im talking the people who trade there childs foodstamp money for crack and meth. wich is a regular occurance around here. or the people who lie about what they make and who lives with them, so they can get hud and foodstamps to cover there pot buys. its rediculous.

i was on unemployment for almost a year. but it was hard for someone like me
just a highschool diploma and only had physical labor jobs. the companies around here are hirering the people with degrees that got laid off now instead of the people like me. at the gas station down the street there was a guy working the pumps that had a masters in business.
