JC Auto Design - SCX10/AX10 Axle Truss, Panhard and CMS options

Tracking shows Saturday delivery. Should be a quick install and most of the calibration is done, so I should be able to get started on getting caught up over the weekend.

Any good news :)

No good news yet. I got the parts in and installed them, but the printer still shuts down when I try to print anything. I'm trying to troubleshoot this to figure out what went wrong. I am hoping to have at least one extruder running so I can catch back up on orders, but I won't be able to look at that until tomorrow at earliest. (Spent almost all day yesterday trying to figure this out...)

Am I missed the PayPal cart? Or is it "down" along with the printer?

I removed the add-to-cart button while the printer is down.

Production temporarily delayed. Please see this post for more information.

I have a couple orders that are waiting on the printer to get back up and running, and until then I don't want to have orders just sitting waiting for everything to get back up and running. Keep an eye on this thread; as soon as the printer is up and running I will post some information here as well as re-open the add-to-cart button.

Printer is still down.

Instead of making everyone wait forever for these parts, I am going to scavenge them off my personal rigs to at least get these orders out. I will still be doing something else to make up for the delay, so keep an eye out on your emails with details, but this will hopefully get your vehicles up and running in the meantime.

Printer update:

I got the correct heaters in, but the printer still shuts down when I try to print anything.
I got on the phone with the manufacturer's support line, and after some troubleshooting it turns out something on the motherboard fried when I put the wrong heaters on.

But, luckily, the company is sending a replacement board for free - out of warranty. :ror: "thumbsup"

So, until the replacement board comes in, the printer will remain down. I'll be having a sale on some of my products when everything is back online as a thank you to all those that have been patiently waiting for production to resume.

Keep an eye out soon for the re-launch.

Thank you for the update, I know I will be needing two of the panhard/3 link trusses, two panhard mounts, and one cms plate.

I got my package yesterday, thanks Jens! You'll see why I was anxious to get to work. This build started in December!

New update:

I got the replacement motherboard in and tried to print... not working... still there was something wrong!

After some more troubleshooting, it seems the second set of heaters I was sent were actually wrong... again!

The company that sent them said:

Its unlikely you received a 12v heater as we stocked out of 12v 40w units earlier that day after you had placed your order.

To verify which heaters I had, I checked the resistances. I showed 3.8 ohm on one heater, and 4.2 ohm on the other. 24V heaters are supposed to be around 14.4 ohm, and 12V are around 3.6 ohm. So I was sent yet another set of 12V heaters. Now I have to see if they will send the right ones or refund my money...

I was able to clean off one of the original heaters enough to use it, and will be partially up and running for the time being. I have a couple orders to catch up on, and when I am ready to resume normal production I will start taking new orders. There will be a sale on some of my parts as a thank you to those who have been patiently waiting to order.

More soon!

sucks you having to keep going threw all this with your printer

ill keep checking back daily as i have been"thumbsup" cant wait to get some parts

The website launch sale has been successful, and I am now all caught up with orders. All paid orders are packaged and ready to ship in the morning. Keep an eye on the tracking number in your PayPal account to track the shipment.

Because the sale has been so successful, I am extending the sale until Father's day (Sunday, June 15th).
I currently have these in stock, ready to ship (no waiting on the next batch).

Also, I am updating the material to a different formulation of Nylon. The new formula is even stronger (Lab tested to 4000 lb stress) and easier to print. The main reason for switching materials was that this is easier to print, with less support material and set-up time. It was simply an added bonus that the material was also stronger, although, I have still yet to hear reports of a set of the previous Nylon version breaking.

Thank you for all your support, it is what keeps the hobby progressing.

Question on the cms truss I have mine all set up and I have been having it want to twist were the pan hard bar bolts to the truss . Is there any way to fix this just don't want to snap it

If it is flexing too much you might be able to make a little stiffening plate to screw into the panhard mount, although I would doubt that you will be able to break the nylon under normal use. Also, this motion of the panhard should be fairly straight up and down, and shouldn't be inducing much motion that would twist the mount. It may be worth checking your link geometry to make sure it is running smooth.

Well I was play in a little today doing a little testing with my scx10 and it ripped one of the screws right out of the plate that holds the pan hard bar to the frame what can I do to fix this when I put it in it never wanted to tighten down very much so now I'm stuck again :(
