Jconcepts 2.2 ruptures tire tuning for pro rigs

Good news since I just ordered a set of Ruptures yesterday.

You say you used the stock foam out back at first but what did you do in the front? CI?

The front was a 6.0 double Duce soft I only had the wide so I trimmed about 1/8 from each side;-)

I felt the rear stock foam was a tad to firm in my opinion if you don't shave the side walls then cut them in triangle pattern to make it look like a large transmission gear or if shave the tire take and trim the sides narrowing the foam and add a tuning disk on the outside from crawler innovations

I did put a DD 5.5 medium in the rear and Added an extra medium ring because they felt to soft
Now I have to try it:mrgreen:

My current weight is 4lbs 5oz however when I tune the tires they will go on carbon or plastic wheels bringing it to about 4lbs 1-2oz

Also myself and my crew felt like these tires were very good without tuneing them last night, and being that lug tires are hard to get right now these are a good purchase

One last thought I do have new boss claws ,Sedona, and rovers unused and used and I think I will be using these and voodoos as my standard tires of choice "thumbsup""thumbsup"

Perfect, I have a solid assortment of foam on hand including what you've listed so I have a starting point at least.

I picked up a set of scorpios since I figured they could be grooved into pins. I cut the hell out of them and I really like them except on smooth climbs. They like to hop a bit and slide but otherwise stick very well.

So I was able to run 2 packs in tonight and their was less bounce in the rear however with the shaved sides it was a little difficult to get over some undercuts so will play with the rears some more I think I will try some memory rings and maybe a DD 5.25 and a combo of rings"thumbsup"

This was Eddie's response to my same question but applied to my crawling specific 5.5lb Wraith on RC4WD Rocker wheels (1" wide).

"I haven't tried those yet. I have the scorpios on a custom scale build with a trimmed pattern and like them a lot.

Since you are rock crawling, here's my recommendation.
CWR-1004 front
CWR-1005 rear
During check out, ask for the tuning rings to be included per email.

Those are 5.5, but with the tuning ring, it makes them 5.75. The 6.0 comes with the tuning ring, but the inner is bigger and 5.5 pounds is kinda light for a wraith."

This recommendation is on its way, so I can't give feedback yet and I know it's not the same rig you are asking about but figured it might help. Post some pics of yours trimmed.

EDIT 8/20/16: This recommendation didn't work so I ordered 6" 1030 & 1031's and the narrow works fine for my 1" wheels.

Just wanted to repost with my edit so no one followed the recommendation that was given to me. 6" narrow comp cut is the better solution.

Also, the only modifying I've done to them was 8 air holes punched in and I can only compare them to my modded Bully pins and I would consider them on par for traction with them so far. Also, our areas are mostly sandstone.

Finally mounted up the ruptures on some 1 1/2" CI wheels. Stock foam up front, 5.5" ci single stage inner and random soft proline outer. I ran them on my test log ( seriously a chunk of tree truck I test everything on ) seem good enough so far. I'll get out next weekend for a proper beatdown.

Good news Trash looking to hear your thoughts

I have had 1 comp with them and looked very good. I saw that dlux tried them and liked them as well on his berg tread.

I actually took my rear and narrowed them as well and ran 2 packs threw them and the rears felt even better they crawled over under cuts easier8)

I do have a comp on Sunday along Long Island sound which will be first time there and I,m planning on running them, the pictures of the location look like there maybe smooth and pitted or salt weathered rock there I think pins might be better but I,m going to leave them at home:shock:

Just finished the comp and did well with the tires
The extra height gave them the ability to climb good over break overs but made the rig tether on some side hills  but really liked the tires and they were grippy the narrowed rear tires worked very good.

I,m pretty sure the rest of the crew were impressed with there performance
Considering pins would have loved the rocks"thumbsup"

Funny I just ran a battery through the rig with the ruptures on. I'm impressed. Forward bite was fantastic, side hilling wasn't bad at all. The stock foams up front suck so they'll need to go away in favor of something with more support. Once the front foams are replaced they should be a fantastic tire.

I have been running them since they came out, I think there the best tire out, pins are awesome also, forward bite ruptures all day, check my build thread I have ran through 3 sets allready

I saw a pair of narrowed scorpios in the latest (now sold) build that's it.

Ruptures mounted on 1" CI wheels with 5.5" single stage inner all around with soft outer front and mediumish rear outers cut from the stock rupture foams. Setup works fawking sweet.
