there is a jeep cherokee 4Dr dana 30 with ox locker in the front and a Ford 9-inch in rear. Stock motor I6 EFI, Tranny came out of a 1995 jeep cherokee. Cut fenders. Nice flex. he wants 5500 for it but i think hes asking too much

cant help without a bunch more info

I was going to edit it and say that but we were leaving to a friends house.
Whats better a chrysler 8.25 or a ford 8.8?

alot more than you think. Im betting there hare thousands of jeeps running around with that combo, I know of 5 myself
But why? Assuming a non CJ30 (and non EB30), you have different bolt patterns and two very different R&P strengths and overall axle strength.

Just seems to me that if you are transplanting a 9", throw in its matching 44 at the same time.:)

Hey Robb, the older early broncos (pre 1970 ish) came stock with a d30 front/9"rear. ;-)EDIT Oops i was too slow. You see 9's in all sorts of stuff becasue its FAR easier to stuff a different rear diff in compared to dealing with the front! Thats why you see all these "built" d30's floating around

Up til '73 actually................and it was a LP30..............and was junk, and anyone that would install it on another vehicle should be shot.;-)

so 74-77 had D44's up front?
I have to go back and forth on the issue. By record, dittohead is correct, and Ford technically changed over to D44s in '71....................although there are LOTS of '72-'73s out there that found their way out of the factory with a D30. What kind of percentage, I have no idea. But I have heard/read of plenty. But yes, any Bronc '74-'77 would be a narrow LP D44.

It has been regeared, Suspension is home made stock transfer case. 1989 Jeep Cherokee. it also has worn out swampers on it

not a high output motor , only in 91-96 is a H.O 4.0L.

It shouldnt be worth that much. Over here theres a (dont know the year) cherokee 32" bogger on a 3.5" lift, for 1400. And its got good tread swampers on it. like 85% im guessing.

I am not a Jeep guy, but I haven't heard anything in the description that sounds like a $5500 vehicle.

91-2001 was HO, not a big difference though, the older renix 4.0 with a few cheap mods can be brought up to HO power

an 89 will not be worth that much, maybe half that price

I thought this was correct:
1984-1996 2.5 L AMC I4, 105 hp-125 hp
1984-1986 2.8 L GM 60° LR2 V6
1985-1987 2.1 L Renault turbodiesel I4
1987-1990 4.0 L AMC I6, 173-177 hp, with Renix
1991-1996 4.0 L AMC "High Output" I6, 190 hp,
1997-2000 2.5 L AMC I4, 125 hp
1997-1999 4.0 L Power Tech I6, 190 hp
2000-2001 4.0 L Power Tech I6, 193 hp

you are correct on the terminology, but most of the xj's and TJ's where still badged HO up into the 2001 year. and the block was still the basic amc 4.0 until they stopped using it in 2006, the heads intake exhaust and ignitions changed over the years but the block remained basically interchangeable for all the years

I currently run a 99 HO motor in My ladies 95 xj, all was Identical to hook up except for the temp sender.
