Really would like to see how you have the body mounted. I think I can see the screws right behind the wheel wells but I'm curious about the rear. Really nice rig im in the process of my own build very nice.
@Modawi: Just came across your build thread and wanted to say what an awesome rig you have made! I am a fellow Rubicon addict, but mine is an Axial JK 2012 with a lexan shell, funny that we have the same DSPro jerry can rack
If you are tempted to try the chassis mounted servo again, I am running the one from Level3RC (includes panhard) and as long as you mount your drag link down to the right of the truck (parallel with the panhard bar) you shouldn't have problem with bump steer.
If you are curious here is my rig just before I started trailing it (it has changed quite a bit since this as I am getting it dialled in for Class 2 competitions, but I am behind on video editing ):
hey whats up everyone? so here is my Jeep jk build with pics, im not goona list all the parts but you can ask me and i promise i will reply ASAP im waiting on RCModelex chassis and roof rack
Operation HELL NO! If you can find me a picture of a 1:1 with shocks mounted like that, I'll paypal you $100. Yes it's going to ride smoother...your spring rate is about 45% of what it would be mounted on the shock mounts. On my builds, I don't run oil or o rings on the shocks. They are purely sprung. Scale action, scale rebound. Take them out, if you don't like them...put them back in.8)
Hey man loved this build... been watching your vids on youtube but was wondering how you built the double throw down? Can you take some photos of your axels and also your shock hoops and i can get an idea of how to do it to my truck too.
Yes i will, 2 things tho the shock without the coil is there for looks only no oil no oil rings nothing tho i shouldve kept the rings in there since the rig is 11lb. 2nd the chassis is rcmodelex not axial so u might need to fab a different setup.
ill take some pics and uploadem soon.
I know this is an older build, but i just stumbled on it while looking for anyone with experience with the rcmodelex jk body cage, and the rig im currently working on is almost identical to yours. Its a good thing and a bad thing i guess, yours is very handsome, and exactly how i want mine to look, but i dont like building something if its just like someone elses. Unfortunately im too far along to turn back but, the reason im here is I was going to buy that rcmodelex roof rack you're using, and i also have the same shocks. I was wondering, does the roof rack make it too top heavy? Its tall with those shocks, and im afraid the body will sway like crazy...
