jeep vs hummer

Considering a Hummer (The newer ones) run a basic Yukon chassis, there isnt really much of a challange. Jeep hands down.
Now if you were talking bodies, Id say Hummers. Jeeps like to rust out.

Neither.

Toyota is where its at.
what are you talking about, yota's are rubbish;-), bullet proof engines, great capabilty, very tough, good looks. Thats why i own one"thumbsup"

as far as jeep vs hummer the h1's rock but the indi kills em artic wise but then again stock jeeps ain't that good with articulation (correct me if i'm wrong) but they have masses of suspension parts to give more flex so????
i'm only 17 i don't know anything really;-)

this topic is so overy discussed it makes me sick.

If there were an OG Hummer and a Jeep both stock. Id take Hummer hands down.

Not anymore, Galvinized !!!

And being a former jarhead and jeep owner, JEEP ALL THE WAY !!!!! I have made it through places in my Rubicon that the Marine hummer couldn't !!

I would have to agree that in totally stock form, I'd pick an H1 over the Jeep of the same year if price wasn't a factor....but it does depend on WHAT Jeep  There were many very capable older Jeeps (back in the AMC days). Stock H1's are very capable...they are just big and couldn't go into the tight spots like say a Wrangler could.

H2's are not Hummers  Only true Hummers are the "Generals" "thumbsup"

BTW...I am both a Jeep guy and a Yota guy

Jeep! Unless you need a lightly armored truck to haul a few people, gear, and a .50 cal/missile launcher up top through hell and back. Then it's all HMMWV!!!

I've owned both and they are great off road trucks right from the factory. Right now I'm enjoying my '08 HUMMER H3 ALPHA. This truck is great with the Adventure package and the 5.3L 300hp. V8. A BIG difference from my '06 H3. Now, if we could get those ponies in a Rubicon off the show room floor...........well, thats a whole other story"thumbsup".

Same basic chassis yes but it has been boxed and reinforced, bigger sway bars lockers, the under side is almost completly skid plated rock sliders hell what more do you want! I like them both "thumbsup"

I've driven the military hummers for years. They're good in their own way but I've also owned a handful of Jeeps.

I took my '50 Willys through spots that a Hummer would never go.

But at high speeds off-road...Hummer wins.

Two very different vehicles.

A better comparison would be FJ vs. Jeep.

I'll take my 1991 Chevy Suburban over any of them! ( because it's paid for and looks cool ha ha )"thumbsup"

Jeep all the way, here in AZ we have lots of rocks H1 just will not make it up the stuff we have. My brother drove a H1 i the army and flat out said what we just did with my Jeep the Hummer just cannot do it.

The H1 dose have its place over a Jeep in some things but rock crawling is not one of them.

The original Hummers don't fit very well on the trails, at least around here. They're as wide as a 1 ton dually at the rear fenders. The 2 newer generation ones aren't anything in their stock form. If I was going to buy a new Jeep it would be the 4 door Rubicon. But............I'll stick with my old Wagoneer, it's paid for and goes anywhere I dare take it :-P

the h3 is actually very capable off road and comparable in size to the new jk but I think It comes down to money

Jeep is just another word for Junk.

Hummer is just another word for blowjob.

I own 2 Jeeps maybe 3. I have driven past where H1's got stuck and then pulled them out.

As of now I prefer my FJ-60 it may not be the most capable, it could be if I modded it more, but I love it as it is.

My Jeep-CJ-5 hopes to become a rock buggy/rock racer someday.

H1-virtually all of the civilian ones had the 6.5 diesel, which is a pile of shit. I'd rather have a yugo. The H1 alpha was short lived, but the duramax is a pretty good motor. Still too wide for my taste.
H2-I bet my maxima can go places that big yuppie hauler can't. POS.
H3-Not too bad. Ugly and hard to see out of, but otherwise decent off road.

Jeep wrangler-Pretty reliable, solid axles, good size, unbeatable aftermarket parts support. I'd consider a wrangler if I didn't spend all of my money on RC cars:lol:
