i picked up my ax-10/scx-10 hybrid about 2 weeks ago. Its a hybrid because it started out as the ax10 but got the scx10 frame on it. any way i started with a HPI jeep body and built a cage (steel and hot glue) for it:

that was cool so i decided to try brazing for the first time and built a 4-link truss like R2J's "thumbsup"

Ok so I'm tryin a chassis mounted steering setup but I can't figure out how to set it up without the tires turning when flexing. Any help would be appreciated!!

Looks like a great start! Thats a difficult body to work with becasue of the low floor and no real room for the transmission. I used the same body on a scx frame and flipped the tranny 180*, you might try that and see if it helps get the body down.

You are one step further along than I am with brazing (which is to say I can't seem to get it...), and it looks good, except the cage looks like it's a bit thin.

Keep it up, it is looking good, but beyond that, it is YOURS, and what YOU think looks good!

Looks good. I need to relearn to weld/braze again have not done it since highschool. So what body is that is it still the hpi?

its the new bright rubi rock crawler body. as for the cage it is a little bit thin, but i feel like it looks more like a aftermarket jeep cage than the stock jeep roll bar. the body sits a little bit lower than the pics, i had to cut out part of the floor but it still looks ok from the inside. and the brazing i have found to be easy! i use harris safety silv 45 and harris safety flux and just a nice wire brush to clean everything before brazing it...

here is my finished front bumper, it is supposed to look like poison spyder's trail stinger:

Well after a long time I reprinted it and added to the cage to look more like a family style cage...

The comp cut made the wheel wells huge, so I made rear corner guards to make it a little smaller:

It's suppose to resemble my own jeep
