Jeremy's Sporty

Nice chain guard too, would'nt want grease on those Hanes knee highs. I thought only old white people wore their pants that high?

Jeremy. You would really fit right in on Seawall riding up and down on that. You really would impress the duck boat riders on that thing.

:ror: There are some SWEET bikes to be seen on that sidewalk. And that boat tour passed us probably 10 times last weekend...:ror:

After some awesome crawling with you down there over a year ago, my son and I were on that dang boat bus. Made me think about a scaler.

I picked up a few sets of the Crawler Innovations Comp Cut 6.0 inner foams. I like the channel in the outer, but I was mostly interested in the width of the foam. I really wanted to get rid of the small gap between the sidewall and the foam. Doing so should keep the tire/foam setup more consistent.

I put full width medium outers on the foams (front and rear). The channel seems to make the outer about a half step softer....meaning, this outer feels about right in the middle of a medium and soft outer. Because it was softer, I decided to add a little support to the channel for the rear tires. I cut an old 4.75" soft outer I had in half and put it in the channel before I put on the outer:

This setup makes my front firmer than before and my rear softer than before.

I got a few packs through the truck this morning and I must say that I am pleased with the results!

The forward bite and sidehill with these foams seems quite good. The tire is MUCH more consistent...just like I had hoped for! The sidewall still wrinkles (as seen above), but it bounces back after the obstacle. I do think that my fronts were a bit too firm. I plan to narrow the medium outer on the fronts by about 1/4" to help soften the tire up

IMO, the extra width of these inners is necessary on these tires....especially if you are putting them on an MOA. The channel is up to the user. If you are looking for a half step between outers, then the channel is for you. If you like one of the current density outers, then maybe ask Eddie to not cut the channel.

Good looking build. I like it.

I also saw how some of the guys were sticking baby powder in the inners so the foams would be more compliant inside and not bunch or wrinkle. I am going to giver a go on that.

I like your idea of back filling the channel on the rear foams. "thumbsup"
Thanks. Looks like I forgot to add the picture I snapped of that setup. It's in that post now. "thumbsup"

Thanks Rick. I think they were doing that so that the foams were easier to get situated inside the tire. I did not seem to have that problem.

So you previously ran fronts 6"/soft. Now are running 6" channeled/medium and think they may be a tad firm? What do you think about going back to soft outers, but adding back the tuning ring?

Yep. That's a good possibility. I will tear these down and try both and see how they feel.

Looks good. Jeremy. Had yer thinkin' cap on.

I don't run the Comp cut inners out back, only the front. Regular Closed cell inners out back.

Thanks Shane. Do you run the wide inners, but not channeled in the back? If so, I considered doing that, but didnt order any of them....so I added that ring.

Also what compound are you running? The Voodoos pictured above are all gold.

Another thing that I noticed about this channel is that it really flattens out the tread on the tire. If you dont like a crowned pin tire, then this is a good option for you.
