Jeremy's Sporty

Here ya go Eric. I know it didn't turn out as fancy as some of the others out there, but it's the best I could do with my drill press and small router bit. I knocked off 10g's...

I think what I like most about your build is when you build something hand-made, by damn it looks hand made. I find that refreshing. Obviously it works just as well as the "perfect" mods others must really toil over.

:ror: Thanks.

My wife once made some craft thingy and when she was done, she held it up and asked me if it looked like she made it. I said yes. She got pissed.

Luckily, I dont take that as an insult. I didnt expect this to turn out perfectly. I expected it to look a tad nicer than it did, but oh well. It will still function nicely."thumbsup"

Just keep your lid on at comps so we don't have to look at your hack job!

Just kidding, that looks good for having been done on a drill press. Did you do it with a cross slide vise?

Some Grip Fab Ti spools:

The Al spools I pulled out were still in good shape, they just had a slight amount of play in them. These new spools have ZERO play.

You guys are so lucky to have this spool. I am still in waiting list......

I have the SS version (not FW) that was plan to go in to my sportsman rig, now I need to wait for this one....

We are all lucky to have such a great vendor. "thumbsup"

I read somewhere these spools are made of Grade 2 material. What's the advantage of Grade 2 Ti over say 7075 aluminum? The aluminum is 60% stronger, much lighter and way cheaper.

I'm of the opinion if it's worth doing in titanium, you gotta use high strength Grade 5. I'm sure if I'm wrong here, you'll let me know. :)

(BTW, the V1 spools were 6061. This Ti is stronger than that.)

IIRC, Jeremy likes the titanium because it tastes better. "thumbsup"
