I built this truck a while back, but never posted anything up about it. I have been driving it a lot lately and have been quite impressed!

Specs:
Axial axles, beef toobs, over/under gearing, 300's and RCAxleMasters, VP8* and homemade Knuckle Weights
Axial tranny, BWD motor plate, Crawler Innovations outputs and driveshafts, Robinson gears
Brood CVR 16T, 90T spur, 15T pinion
GC3A chassis (setup EXACTLY like the instructions suggest), Kyosho buggy shocks with Losi pinks in the front and blacks in the back
Wheelworks 8711's, shaved and siped Sedonas with CI foams
Mamba Micro Pro, CC BEC, S9157 servo with CI servo guard.

Total weight = 5lb 11.5oz with a ~60% front bias.
Center clearance = 2 5/8"
Width = Front:10 1/8" Rear:10"

Here are some finished pics:

I have been running this in our local sportsman class and been doing well. We typically just run the same courses as our 2.2 pro (after everyone has run their pro trucks) and I regularly do better with this truck than my pro! :ror:

Anyway, here are some action shots:

I love your spring choice! Pinks and blacks? What oil are you using in the shocks?

Great build. Looks like more greatness for the Galveston rocks. Any torque twist without aiming to dial it out with your oil spring setup.

I always heavier in the rear and lighter in the front.

Great looking rig, for a Texas rig anyway."thumbsup"
Thanks Ricky. I used to run the same as well, but have recently switched since my weight bias has gotten better and moved toward the front quite a bit."thumbsup"

Neat. I always wanted one of the Gatekeeper chassisisis.

How about run your motor wires underneath and between the motor and transmission? There's a little tunnel through there you can use. Maybe even solder the wires to the other terminals and you almost won't even see wires. Though maybe the DNA motor plate blocks the tunnel...

I got a new gatekeeper chassis drilled for a pede tranny.

And TLT axles? Sorry to hear that.

Actually, that'd be cool to have one of those. There's some history there, somehow.

Jeremy, I would be interested in the homemade knuckle weights you did. Can you fill me in on how you did it? Maybe post up pics as well?
Thanks,
-Gary

They are quite simple. I just took a handfull of washers (the size will depend on the wheels you are running) where the OD and ID fit inside my wheels and over the hubs. Then, I took one of them, chopped about a third off and drilled 4 holes in it....two for the mount at the top and two on the sides for the other washers to mount to. Then, I drilled the full size washers for the proper mounting holes and bolted everything up. I did all of this with a dremmel and a drill press...but it could be done with a hand drill....simple tools that everyone has.

This evening, I can unbolt the outer washers and take a picture of the mount that I made. It is about time to clean the CVDs so I can do both at the same time."thumbsup"

Thanks for response. I will look for the pics this evening. Can't wait to try this on my new sport rig. Thanks,
-Gary

Thanks guys!

Gary, just to clarify, these are on the VP8* knuckles....if you have their regular knuckles, my mount wont work.

 Almost a twin to my new one. Same driveline parts, 300s axlemasters etc...chassis, and I even got some of the Kyosho shocks. So I must be on the right track:ror:

Eddies(CI) driveline kit is beef huh?

Very nice.
Those wheels may have nailed down #2 spot on my list of favorites, How wide are those? Standard 1"?
Yep."thumbsup"

Loving all these Sporties Jeremy, I think this rebirth will generate some new excitement. Looks good man. "thumbsup"
Thanks Norm, this truck sure is fun to drive!

Yeah, I saw that you ordered a set of his driveshafts about the same time I ordered mine. I got fed up with twisting the hell out of the Pede shafts.....I dont think I'll have that problem with Eddie's kit!

You'll be amazed with this truck. It works pretty well in the stock/recommended geometry configuration! "thumbsup"
