Journey of SMP

Hardbody came in along with the MX-V. Happy to have a cheaper radio and not have to worry about smashing my fancy one on rocks.
Very excited to have a new body to work on.

That body looks great! How does it go together, is it all glued?

It screws together with hardware that's included. Matched up pretty good but I puddied some to get cleaner lines, or Atleast I tried to get cleaner lines. Lol
It's an awesome body but heavy so plan to add weight down low if you go with it.

Reconfigured my layout this morning. I'll use this for trails or g6 type events but for the local crawler gigs I'll run my smaller packs to drop weight.
I think at 8.6 pounds she's a heavy weight.. lol

Rebuilt stock shocks and mounted then since I'm waiting on springs for dravtech.
Actually may have stopped the leaking and using diff oil seems to really work.
Bye

Been awhile since I've posted do to the holidays and me getting a HPI Venture for Christmas.
Finally got stiffer springs bit after running today I think the rear still needs to be firmed up. Everything seems to work like I was hoping but a little more in the rear will give it just that much more. ;)
I am debating on changing bodies, this hardbody is alot of weight up high making me not want to add more with scale items and winch. We will see once I run it more.
On to the pics.

Well I've been away for over a year and after all the work never did get to test this rig. Things have settled down in life and I've retrieved my trucks from storage to start prepping for 2019. I plan to hit a few of the local fun runs, maybe cross state line to try a comp but mostly just hit the Montana trails. I'm excited to test this truck and see how it holds it's self, I'm still not sure about the body or maybe changing shocks.. Stay tuned 2019 is going to be epic!

Good to see you on here again. I plan on some epic trail runs this year and am trying to get my Fj buttoned up.

So far this weekend has been all about going threw my 2 rigs and finding what I did as I test.. lol I tested her out in the snowy backyard course and am very excited about how it handles. Other then possible a body change this rig will only change when something breaks but i dont see that happening. ;)
Looking forward to joining on some of your epic runs..

After some running I decided to swap bodies as the XJ is just to heavy and didnt let her act as controlled as she should. I dressed her in a nice body with smooth curves and just enough junk in the trunk to help if needing to possible upright if needed. I feel like it was a good move to match how she felt inside with everything being beefed up. Steering servo was just to give her that much more while tossing her shoes.. be kind, she has lost alot of weight and is nervous for her first show.
To the nudes.. [emoji16]

Not much happening with the crazy weather we're having right now but I did get 2 new pics for you.
1 is of my first meltdown from showing my new body. Guy flip his lid personally attacking me, even doxxed me, so I felt it was only right to put his initials on a brick

I started working on something out my sliders to help prevent hang ups.

Once I can actually run to test I will bondo and paint but want to make sure I dont need to add or adjust before finalizing.

Looking good, I haven't had any noticeable hangups on the stock skid, but smooth never hurts.

I have a horrible case of cabin fever right now

I feel your cabin fever. Just a few weeks ago I was able to at least play on my little home course but now it's under 14" of snow. I did start today to shovel it out but that's a task since shoveling on rocks don't seem to work together.. :x

Smooth is always better, I find I hang them up on steep inclines when cresting the top if off tilt a little. not usually I can't power threw or manage but if I can keep that down then I can transition to next object easier. That's my thought anyways and it gave me something to do while frozen inside. :ror:

Go out for an adventure yesterday to do some testing and play with my camera mount. Truck runs great and as of now don't see much changing other then drive shafts at some point but not in a hurry as it seems to handle just fine. Big Cabin crawl is coming in a few weeks and I'll see how it holds up to others but it's built solid.
Check out yesterdays play time and if you like, sub and like!

Still rocking MAGA today and just yesterday got him out for a run to test and be ready for our local Cabin crawl. This truck has came along ways over the years and always holds its own to newer.
I love seeing the years rashes on the underside knowing that most came from comps as I only run him for tests or big days.
