Is it possible, or worth it to convert a JR XS3 FM radio to 2.4Ghz?

I was just given a new JR XS3 without a RX, I am rebuilding my old E-Maxx, and I was thinking of using this radio if I can get it running on 2.4ghz.

Thanks.

yes you can. costs a little over 30 bucks

Corona 2.4GHz diy kit - convert old radios to 2.4GHz - R/C Tech Forums

weren't those XS3's old losi RTR radios? to be honest, the kit is about $30, but for another $5 or $10 more, you could just get a Flysky GT-3B, that is already on 2.4!

Thanks for the link Standmondz!!!

Are the RXs proprietary to that system, or are there other brands of RXs that can be used?

You are correct Steel, a few bucks more and I could get another radio. But, this radio will be for my E-Maxx that I am rebuilding into a rock buggy, this radio will be a cool side project to go with it. For me, the fun isn't just in the driving, but it the building as well.

as far as i know only the corona receivers are the only ones that work with it.
been runnin mine for a couple years
