k2 6x6 ,,,,

,,the wheely king axle halfs are a tounge and groove type,,,and the tounge sides are on the pinion side,,so i had to file down the two tounges,,,i used rtv gasket sealer to fill the little gaps in between the halfs ,,i run my scalers in water alot,,,so the sealer is just to keep out any unwanted debris....

nah,,it only took a few minutes with a dremel,,,,i have a few tricks up my sleeve for more steering throw,,ill post when mods are done

the final moch up is done,,,matching hardware has arrived,,,the bed is finished,,the tear down went quick,,,the anodizing has been stripped,,,the final paint is done,,,

final build will begin 7.5 hrs from the time of post,,,,,pics to follow the completion of the build...

final reassembly went well,,,6hrs total...still have a few loose ends to tie up,,but pleased with what i have so far......

a week of testing has gone by,,,,had some suspension issues to iron out,,,to much articulation,,,so i put revo shocks w/ jato 1.2 springs on the rear axles,,,much better,,,more testing

well i have had a few weeks of testing and have made some upgrades,,first ..a few guys in my local club got the bergs and i reaped the benefits,i am running all aluminum berg wheels with the custom cut rock rings, second i changed the shocks from big bores to jatos w/2.8 rate springs,,(had to shorten the articulation, jack shaft would split apart on some obstacles,,third ..i finished the canopy,,picked up some cloth from the local rag shop, bent some round bar for the loops and put some eyelets in em,,still have more to do but this it for now..

Re: k2 6x6 ,,,,Back From The Dead,,,

Its Been a But Load of Time Since I Worked on,,or Did anything With this,,I decided to Pull it Out a few weeks ago to Run It,,and Realized how Old and Out dated it Was,,

So after Running it Again it Resparked My Intrest and Desire to Make It Better,,First Thing to get Yanked was the Wheely King Axles, and the magical slipping Diffs...In there Place went some Axial Axles with all the Goodies,,My Last Few HauntFreaks Stainless Lockers,,Strait Axles for Mid and Rear,,Axial Clockable Chubs and High Clearance Knucks up Frt ,,Frt axle Has Cvds and Over Drive Gear Set,,Mid Axle has Stock Ratio and Rr axle is Set Up with under drive,,

Next to Go was the Shit Rock Crushers,,,They Couldnt Crush Shit,,or Crawl Shit,,I found That I had 8 Total Rock Grabbers From HPI,,So On they Went With Some CI DD Old School Foams I had Left Over From My days when I was a Team Driver,,

Next Was a Redesign of the Suspension,,The Origonal Set Up worked and Worked well,,I just Figured since I was Redesigning the rest Of the Rig Might as Well,,with the new set up It dropped its stance about an inch overall,,Im WAAAAAYYYY Happier with Its stance Now,,Still Have some stuff to Button up,gotta make new Drive shafts and I wanna ditch the SLOOOOOOOWWW R-2 Trans for something with a lil More wheel speed and maybe a T-case,,heres Some Pics...
