I wanna be Dave
So after getting my ass handed to me in class 2 this year in Montana (My Jero broke, a LOT) Baller let me drive his honcho while we were waiting for everyone to finish up. I have already driven a stock honcho last year in the spec class, and was amazed how it performed. I just couldnt bring myself to not "build" my scaler.
Well driving Baller's rig, which other than a winch, CMS and larger tires, is basically stock. I knew what had to be done. I needed a honcho. I was pulling lines with that thing I would NEVER pull in my WTF Jero.
Before the trek home I left the Hobby garage with 2 honchos, and started pondering the next (build?)
Ive sat here for almost a month pondering what to do, as much as the Honcho just works, I can't just bring a Honcho to the scale nats, or any other comp for that matter. So I left it sit in a box while I pondered some Ideas.
Then I remembered a build I took my first year to Montana, it was made as a trail rig, but the tires being small (compared to 2.2s) it didn't fair so well and I sold it off.. I always regretted that.
Now with the change to class 2, I could build it again.... A quick measurement of wheelbases confirmed the stock honcho wheelbase would work, and parts were ordered.
That Brings us to today, the start of the K30 v2 build. here is a pic and a link to the original for those of you who may not remember.

The goal here is to build a scale rig with my flavor that works like a Honcho. here goes nothing
