Question guys !

Anybody have good or bad opinions about RC4WD new King Off-Road Scale Dual Spring Shocks ??

I'm thinking of putting theses on my new Jeep Wrangler but want to make sure i'm not wasting my money like the first version.

thanks.

iv yet to try them but like ur self have considered them for a build also ill fallor along to see if these are bette than thier standard blue dual springs.

Thanks guys.

I had bought the first generation version of these and WOW what a waste of money.

The new ones are suppost to be oil filled and alot better, I HOPE !!

I brought the first gen ones and hated them, still new sitting in parts box, thought the new ones would be Great after all the bad remarks on the first gen shocks, so i got a set to be very disappointed. Their the same as the old ones just with King printed on them, internals may be different, haven't pulled them apart, but they feel the same. If i Let my rig sit for 5min they're already stuck in position, they loosen easy enough but my pro-lines can sit for 2 weeks or more and still be smooth, waste of money IMO.

I ran these in the G6 at KOH on my honcho. 280 silt filled gates, no leaks and worked well. They are a bit tough to tune with oil as the piston size is very generous, but Im very happy with them so far.

If you get them, I recommend reassemble with green slime and thread lock lower rod end.

About how much oil did you put in yours?

I think i filled mine alittle over half way..
Cheers

Love mine, haven't played with oil yet...interested in everyone's tuning experience if the OP doesn't mind...agree on the thread lock on the bottom, it does work off after a few hours worth of runs...but great for crawling out of the box

Couple shots of mine on the honcho...

Thanks everybody for the updates on these.

kind of wish RcCrawler gods would add a Shocks and suspension thread under the General Tech section. HINT HINT !!

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I just installed the 100m King shocks on my SCX-10 jeep JK.. After sitting still for only a few minutes the shocks seem to be a little sticky until a couple pumps up and down. I know this is supposed to happen if they sit for a few days, but after a couple minutes seems like maybe the stickiness is for another reason. Any thoughts? I used shock o-ring grease and built them with no rebound.

I must say i havent had that issue before. I did change to the gmade piggyback 93mm to test them.the gmade ones are pretty smooth but i lost a bit of flex and they re harder than the king shocks.i probably have to play around a little bit first and then decide again since i also changed my foams and so on.
