You have my attention "thumbsup"

Any way to spring load it?
Oh yea thats covered ,,,,The old man building this thing just ran out of steam ,,I will make two cap nuts one for each end, the gear end will help hold the pin in place and cover end of shaft .The tail end will be the push to freespool ,as the main shaft will slide all the way threw to release ,When finger lifted the spring will push shaft back into the lock position ,Did a dry run and it worked great ,Tomarrow more updates .Should hopefully have it completed and start testing ,,For the K3 winch kit will be a week or so have to see how well this one holds up ,there is two spots that i need to watch for excess wear or distortion ,,Inside the spool and the servo gear end ,The gear end should be fine with the cap nut ,,Time & lifting will tell ,,,KMS,,,

Was just telling a guy from the club last weekend that I wished I could get a winch that freespooled "thumbsup""thumbsup"

Very nice, this is exactly what is needed for this type of conversion"thumbsup""thumbsup"
Might be but it kicking my butt right now ,headed to the hardward store looking for the right spring ,,,KMS...."thumbsup"

Testing started at 10am and by 10:45 needed to make a new main shaft ,broke the main shaft ,The hole time winch was slippin ,Free spool works great just wont lift much weight with out slipping ,Got tired of messing around with the adjustment knob and replace it with a lock nut heavier spring ,Started fine lifting the 16lb bottle jack ,something clicked and down came the jack ,close inspection broke the gear in lower gear in the servo,,,Got butt kicked today ,,,,,

You'll work it out , 16 lbs dead lift is still very impressive."thumbsup"
They lift more than 16lbs . Its what the jack that I use for testing weights. I fig that no scalers weighed more than 16lb so that was good enough,When run threw a bec with a 3 cell lipo they have more lifting power and speed as well .My tests are done at the minimum 6 cell 7.2 nickel metal hd battery.Using just a manual off on switch ,On my personal scaler I use a Heyok 4 amp relay winch controller ,tekin fxr, bec,.A freind of mine runs his K3 winch with a tekin fxr, 3 cell lipos ,He says it fast with lots of power,,

Ok scraped the frist prototype ,Heck buy the time I was done with it ,,it was scrape,,So I spent 600.00 dollars and bought some new tools ,At this time there is one on my work bench and hasnt broke yet ,It will dead lift 25 lbs ,,,,,Freespools very good ,still in the development stage 's ,,for a final freespool kit to release ,,,,It will use a 250oz or higher oz servo,,,KMS,,,
