i have been running these for a few months like this and i am really lovin this tire shaved like so. keep in mind these are the same set of tires i have been running for about a year.

i took them off at ECC and the results were not favorable.

they do infact take some time to tune to your specific weight but once you hit the sweet spot they really do perform very well and are very consistent."thumbsup"

How did you shave these?

How did you shave these?

I have done mine on a lathe with emmoery cloth(sp?) and with a dremel and with a 90* air grinder and sanding disc.....the lathe and the dremel are propbaly the cleanest...the 90* grinder and sanding disc is the fastest..i'm wondering how others are doiing it too???

90* die grinder with a brown scuzz pad for removal...then a belt sender with 120 grit for cleanup.

funny...I just did a set not 5 mins ago...I cut all the lugs off with lexan cutters and then used a 90* air grinder with some 120grit pads I just found...they made for a really clean sidewall....and it was fast!8)

the teardown!

she has had a very hard few months, so a teardown is in order. the goldendale event was a mess and i think she has a few bugs to work out before nats!

when i say a mess between the three trucks a had 4 hhk big wire motors destroyed from the silt, an fxr constanly losing calibration, some weird noises in the geartrain of the xr, a shattered mip bell on the mini driveline, and 3 7950's beaten to the point of the shakes.

time to get to work!

first off the skins have held up very well for the entire season!
