Lance Armstrong: Beats ball cancer, now gives up after witch hunt.

I also agree with this. What's the point of having tests if they aren't used as proof. Honestly, I think he did use but so did everyone else. If there is no concrete evidence, just drop it and move on. Figure out better testing methods and use this as a learning experience.

If anything, I think this has shown how ineffective the testing has been in the past and that it needs a serious revamp. Dozens of riders never testing positive, and now admitting they used ped's, obviously the labs have some issues to deal with.

It's OK, I'll just get on Team USPS and they will pay off the guys with the rulers checking length. "thumbsup"

someone help me figure this out. if the USADA has an 8 year limitation, why do they car what happened 17+ years ago????
also if the international bodies governing cycling are telling the USADA to stop, and there not, why dont they just kick them out?

Sorry, but if I was on trial for murder and we had 5 people saying that it was me that did it as well as some evidence saying that maybe I was guilty, I would hope to not be sent to jail....especially not on a "maybe"...

Ever heard of Drew Peterson? Bolingbrook, IL cop. Wife #3 found dead in a bath tub w/ no water in it, ruled accidental . Wife #4 goes missing a few years back, investigation into death of wife #3 gets re-opened, changed to homicide, Drew's arrested and convicted of murder. Prosecutor could prove that wife #3 didn't drown, but couldn't prove how she died or who did it. In the end, testimony from people like neighbors, relatives and pastors...as well as the hear-say evidence from his missing 4th wife, was enough to do him in in the eyes of a jury.

If the prosecution can win a murder trial w/out iron-clad evidence, I'm pretty sure Lance is done. And by the way, Drew Peterson is a sick, twisted dude and I am in no way saying that he didn't deserve a guilty verdict. Too bad they can't charge him in the death of the 4th wife...no body.

You said the reason why in your first paragraph:

enough to do him in in the eyes of a jury.

Have you been to jury duty lately? Do you really think it represents our society? IMO, a jury represents the group of people who dont have much to do during the daytime...

Look, I am not saying he couldn't be found guilty....and I am not saying he isn't guilty......all I am saying is that we are looking at a rule of a game is being broken here, they should be able to show that he did break the rule. This should be a cut and dry case. Either he broke the rule, or he didn't. If he figured out a way around the rule, then it sounds like the people implementing the rule didn't do their jobs properly.

Yes jury's are not the most reliable entity in the world, however the defense attorney was completely incompetent in preventing any of the 4th wife story (hearsay and conjecture) from being presented to the jury.

I forget who said this; "Jury duty is for the people who are too stupid to get out of jury duty!". :ror:

This picture was posted on CNN and I thought it was funny:

What a dumbass, you never, ever admit to anything especially never testing positive. Lance you dumbass, should of kept your piehole shut like Mark McGwire, who BTW still has his title and records, and quietly retired a hero. Dumbass.

Is it wrong to say that I don't give a damn about Lance Armstrong?

Is it wrong to say that I don't give a damn about Lance Armstrong?

By posting twice, you show that you do give a damn.

By reading this post, you clearly show you do.

EDIT* I see you reading it.

CRAP! By editing my post, I lost a "like"!

Uh, McGwire admitted he used roids like two years ago....

And he really has no records anymore, not sure what title he has either......no hall of fame, doubt if he ever makes it in.

Mark McGwire comes clean, admits steroids use - ESPN

Later EddieO

He has never been a "Hero", He is a lier and a cheater in every aspect of his life. It doesn't make it ok if you say "everyone else was doing it as well", that just means your a little kid who has not learned right from wrong, "he did it to!" The only reason he is on Opra is to try and get people to worship him again and make $$$. $$$ and ratings for Opra's show, is the reason she had him on in the first place.

I've always been a Dave Wiens fan, so I wonder if he will rightfully be recognized for 7 consecutive Leadville 100 wins. Lance beat him after he won 6, but now that Lance's credibility is in the toilet, I wonder how many other major wins will be taken from him.
