Ok so we have had our laptop for about 2-3 years and 1 year it wasn't used at all. But I recently started using it because we had gotten wirless internet for it. So now it beeps when I use it. It has never been dropped, always kept safe, never gotten wet or anything like that. It's like it has a pressure point. It has (norton 360). What is wrong with it? P.S. (I USE MY NINTENDO DSI FOR THIS, BECAUSE MY COMPUTER IS TOO SLOW). By the way it's a ( HP pavilion) laptop.

Typically the beep is from a battery or charger problem.

Knowing it sat for 1 year, the battery is weakened from being off for that long and not charged. Though lately people I work with have been breaking the charger input port.

I would suspect the battery, or it's possibly overheating?? After it's been running for a few minutes doing what you normally do and it starts beeping. Restart it, and go into the BIOS and see if you can see what the internal temps are. It will have cooled a little bit by then, but you still should be able to get an idea. Other than that, charge it fully, then unplug it and see how long it runs off one full charge.
