Lathe motor

a lathe motor is just what it says its a motor made for use on a motor commutator lathe like this one

Forty seven years ago RC crawlers discovered that Integy had a 55 turn motor to use in their motor commutator cutting lathe. Crawlers wanted slower motors, so they bought these lathe motors to use in their trucks. Back then it was either silver can 27 turn motors or these.

Man time has flown by.........
Ermmm....maybe he meant "4 to 7 years ago"??:shock::roll:

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Dang, 47 years ago there wasn't much in the way of RC, crap, that was 1965 (yes......I was around then......:roll:)

Lathe motors were usually considered to have better magnets than "regular" RC electric motors, they were also higher turn motors (more torque, less speed).
Most motors I ran were 27T and faster.8)
