Led Light Kit

Yep. Have it on my deadbolt. Works like a charm. Headlights, fog lights and tail lights. Light bar is a whole other unit. Look on ebay. Got mine for $7.99

Do you run it on 3s? If so, did you just plug it into the receiver and its good? I want to make sure they wont burn up on 3s

Yes. Got a kit on my TwinHammer.

I'll have 2 or 3 kits on my Beast RV. Just got all the wiring figured out and will post more pics of them all organized front/rear mounted.

No i have it ran to a very small 1 cell lipo used for the baby helis. 3S will blow it. I can get about 12 hours of light from it and its small and weighs practically nothing.

max input on the set you're looking at is 6 volts. my led set up is from common sense rc. max input for mine is 12 volts. no problems on 3s. they also sell adapters to run it directly off your balance plug

Ok got ya. Thanks for the info. I think i have some small lips from the indoor quadcopter laying around too

here my set up...Hope there are bright enough, but i'm sure they won't compare to vanquish light bar that shoot out a light beam about 8 feet...

Is it going on a crawler?
One of the guys in our club didn't like the "flashing" lights on a similar kit.
Also the kit (he bought) didn't have working brake lights.

Are you any good with a soldering iron? Computer?

I've been experimenting with an Arduino based lighting system, there are three of us in our club running them.
We have controllable headlights and marker lights, automatic hazards, brake lights, and reverse lights. One guy with a Tundra hard body even has DRL's hooked up.

Fully customizable...
The Arduino is $8 to $14, depending on the vendor. Add an El Cheapo LED kit... The whole thing can be had for less than $30.

I can solder. These lights have full on, full off and flashing from what I can tell. I hope to have them installed this weekend to find out. If I dont like them, they were only 10 bucks so not too much lost.

True. And you can use the LED's in the next kit, without the board, or with no board if you calculate your resistors properly...

Anyway to answer the original question, the ESC knocks down the voltage with it's internal "BEC" and feeds the receiver, which in turn feeds the light kit.
So the real question is, is your ESC 3S friendly?
The LED's and receiver will never know the difference.

Makes sense. My ESC is a Holmes Hobbies BR-XL so it can take 3s. I have a small lipo from an indoor quadcopter that i will most likely feel the lights with. Should give me plenty of run time.
