Legalized weed in the US in 5, 4, 3, 2....

EXACTLY. Right until they have Cancer...

You must not have got that memo. Weed cures cancer bro. Despite the fact that, just like tobacco, it is grown in soil (which contains radon gas) and when burned and inhaled, emits alpha particles (high mass, high LET) which have detrimental effects on epithelial cells and lung tissue....but it cures cancer bro.....cause www.ILoveWeed.com told me so."thumbsup"

Most likely they will breed the "high" out of it, but keep all the "medicinal" parts all the crackheads swear by. Of course if you feel better, but are not zonked out, all the dirty hippies will cry about corporate take over, and how it is not right.

All the wackos who cry about GMO stuff would just take some time to find out the truth, EVERYTHING is modified. Unless your drinking water directly out of a river, it has been changed, blasted with UV light, had a dozen chemicals added in. And because of this modern goodness, you will not get dysentery and shit yourself to death.

The weed these idiots smoke now has been mutated, and forced into something it was not. The high THC level were not natural. Selective breeding, and mixing strains have made an unnatural super weed that has driven Cheeto sales through the roof.

They have been trying to breed the "high" out for decades and it hasn't worked out well. You get most of the same side effects as you would from prescription pain meds, the lack of which is what makes mj an attractive choice.

There is a difference between cultivating and GMO. Cultivating is basically cross breeding or manipulating plants or animals to achieve a desired result (bananas, various strains of cannabis, various breeds of dogs, etc). It is a kind of a selective breeding within a particular species. GMO is modifying or combining dna strands from different species and goes far beyond cross breeding and falls into a sort of Frankensteinian qualification because they are combinations or features that you would never ever see in nature. It sometimes combines entirely different species of plants or animals together to create something (glow in the dark fish and pigs, insect resistant plants, blue oranges, etc).

In short, cultivating gives you Labradoodles, GMO gives you Catdogs.

Part of Mosantos goal is in fact to produce plants with super concentrated THC levels...up to 10 times as potent as you would normally find.

From the research I have read, the difference is that weed smoke kills cells instead of just mutating them like tobacco. A dead cell is better than a mutated one, right?

You don't have to smoke it anymore.

Many forms can be vaporized, this rids your lungs of the bad stuff.
Many medical users will not smoke it so there has been many new (and old) ideas put into use.

Imagine a vape pen much like the "blue" for tobacco filled with all the happy sauce you could inhale for days and what you exhale has no odor.

I know many that vape at the bar all the time and nobody has a clue they are smoking their waky tobaky!

Washington and Colorado have revolutionized weed

With all the edibles and tinctures as well you need only choose your pleasure.
I already hear kids laughing at the "old hippies" that still smoke weed.

bc weed for the win, enjoy your dirt crappy pot!!

Maybe BC bud is better than 45 of the states products.

Where I am we consider BC high end commercial, it is consistent and clean, well manicured but low potency for the cost.

You should come down to Portland and try the best beer, wine, and cannabis in the world.

Of course it is. A cell that has had it's DNA altered and repaired incorrectly is what leads to a malignant neoplasm. A cell that has had it's DNA altered and not repaired is a cell that will not reproduce.

However, there is no reason why an alpha particle from one source would be different than another....it is what it is.

You don't have to smoke it anymore.

Exactly.

did somebody say turtle? i coulda swore somebody said turtle.. damnit.

They should have never made it illegal. Fawk the corporations, greedy lawyers, and farmers who would do this. Monsanto and those other corps mentioned in the article are bad for the Earth and our survival.

Now that it genetically modified, it's gotta be safe enough to be a legal drug! Only a matter of time before we get some sweet roundup ready strains and they can sue anybody seeding within a 10 mile radius of their crops!

Roundup ready = lazy farmers spraying fawked up chemicals all over the place with less concern than they already have.

You know it will become legal, the government wants in on the taxation, like booze and smokes, like they say if you cant beat them join them, they have been trying to get rid of it since the 20`s or 30`s.

Yes, yes and yes.

Yep.

Alcohol and tobacco are worse for people than weed IMO.

It would be nice if the law made them all equally accessible.

They seem to cause at least as much harm or more for the user and to society in general.

Yes, they should make them all legal, who cares how people relax after work, a cold beer, slug of shine, a smoke, and a smoke of weed. "thumbsup"

I've heard of that.

To anyone proclaiming weed will cause cancer from smoking... Show me the proof it has caused cancer as well as killed anyone from smoking... And you can't because if such evidence exsisted every major news organization would have a fukking field day with it for the next 100 years.

Non-smokers need to just keep their mouths shut and listen to the experienced smokers and scientists(that aren't paid off from either side). Anyone that has done some reading will know compounds in Cannabis directly attack degenerative cells, protects healthy cells and helps create healthier new cells. We have untold amount of receptors in our bodies that only accept cannabinods which help create electrical signals in our bodies only capable with the whole cannabis plant. We were made to ingest this plant... In what ever quantity the user feels is necessary.

Decriminalizing does nothing to stop crime caused from black market profit. Legalizing is the best option. Regulating in any fashion isn't.

'Smoke' in any form is bad for the body, whether its from ciggs, weed, a bbq, a fire or elsewhere. All smoke contains various carcinogens. As was mentioned there are other ways, better ways, of ingesting cannabis.

Some components of cannabis do help fight off bad cells including cancer, but it is not a 'cure', in the same way that chemo is not a 'cure'. But ingesting any kind of smoke is a proven negative.

Yes we do inherently have receptors in the brain that seem to be only for cannabis. Whether or not thats intended or not who knows. Maybe homo erectus smoked mad ganja back in the day and its evloved into us. Regardless I dont see that as a valid point for pro cannabis people with the current science on the plate.

And fully legalizing it will only the degrade the quality and put money in fat cats pockets. Until our society ceases to revolve around capital, decriminalization is the best option.

You might want to pick up a radiobiology book and read that....the science will explain itself.....

Proving that something doesn't exist is MUCH more difficult than proving it does.

BTW, that comment reminds me of a study that was done a long time ago where the researchers were trying to find out how much radon gas was causing cancer in non-tobacco smoking miners versus those who did smoke. They could not finish the study and write their report.......because they could not find very many miners that didnt smoke.

Non-smokers need to just keep their mouths shut and listen to the experienced smokers and scientists(that aren't paid off from either side).
No bias in any of that statement.....:ror:
