lets' talk tires

i got the kelvar mtr's on my 4runner, and so far i like them alot more than the old mickey thompson mtz's i used to have. mostly mall crawlin', but they look good and ride nice. "thumbsup"

i got 34" special service super swampers on my zuk. love them.

I run MTR Kevlars on my WJ in the flavor of 35x12.50. I had BFG KM2s on there before, same size. The MTRs make the KM2s look like a lousy all terrain. There is grip everywhere. Earlier this year Georgia got hit with a couple ice storms and they took me everywhere I pointed them. They also have a smooth ride on the road and aren't too loud. They also balanced better than the KM2s, and the KM2s were incredibly hard to keep balanced. I worked at a Discount tire for a short period of time and I had to re-balance the KM2s once a month. Another tire that we sold a good many of are Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac.

I have had Pro Comp Xtreme all terrain for a couple of years now. 31x10.5's The run very quiet for an aggressive tread. Tread has help up very well for only about 15,000 miles. Does well off-road in mud and shale creek beds, and sand. I don't really push my 98 ranger, but haven't been stuck with these tires. And with the winters we have here in Erie, they do really well in snow, deep snow, ice, slush. Only use the 4x4 to get started from a stop, and no weight in the rear. I would buy again...
Pro Comp Tires Part 55033 - 33X12.50R15LT, Radial Xtreme A/T - - 4 Wheel Parts

Finally got my set of MTR Kevlars in35x12.5R15, can't wait to give them a whirl.

I talked to 20+ people who have either run them, KM2s and old MTRs or all at one time or another prior to picking between the MTRs or KM2s. Also talked to several tire distributors and asked about warranty claims, issues or returns.

Goodyear came out on top so I hope I'm happy with them.

Wish I could afford another set of Maxxis Trepadors, they kicked ass on my old mini truck.

in a years time on my d.d. ive worn down a good 3/8", maybe more, on my kevlars.

its what happens with big lug tires, especially on a mall crawler, but damn its depressing.

love the tires tho.

Yikes, got way more time out of my Trepadors on my mini truck before I sold it but that only weighed 3200lbs.

Hopefully they last longer on my FJ40 than they did for you.
