Losi 1/10th Roller

Anyone determined yet what combo package would work in the Losi WHENEVER it gets here ?
I know I am going with a Tekin FX-R and planning on running 7.2 volts . What turn Tekin motor should I get ? 35T,45T or 55T ?
This will be a father son team that currently has a WK and practice crawling with it . But, we want to enter come comps when we get our Losi .
Which would be best for us ?
Here is our plan , we will put the Tekin in the WK until the Losi comes out . This way we can get used to an ESC with a drag brake.
You guys that run Comps, what would you recommend ? Remember we are going with the combo with the Tekin motor . So, please don't say a 7 turn Holmes puller or something . As we are on a budget right now.
Thanks so Much,
Raz

Here is what I ran for a few weeks. http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1751817&postcount=902

They are not bumped, just depends when they placed the orders. I have seen when shops ordered and initially I think with the economy a lot were holding back. Now I'll be dead honest in saying that I do not know the exact procedures, but the one thing I do know is that Horizon tries to be as fair as possible with their dealers. I seriously doubt they would just move a shop down the list because of some "bigger' shop.

Rich

thanks for the updates rich we appreciate it

awesome update Thanks Richard.

I vote for Rich as 2009 Vendor of the Year!!!!!!! (can one person hold that title?) "thumbsup""thumbsup"

It's absolutely great that we have direct access to the man in charge of the whole project, and he has been nothing but helpful to all of us in keeping us updated and telling us what the bad rumors are about the release of this new crawler. "thumbsup"

Rich should help GM run their business, they wouldn't be in the crap hole that they are in if they had this kind of management.

Now who is going to be the first one to slap on a bug body to the new crawler?

bug body is goin right on there. already painted, went with a star wars theme, just waiting for the losi.

I'm about 20 miles from the champaign warehouse. I was told as soon as they get theirs mine is first in line from my LHS. I ordered mine back in Nov/Dec sometime. How true this is I have no clue, but I should be one of the first to have mine in hand. My LHS is supposed to be over there the day they come in so if all goes well, I should have mine thursday or friday at the latest. I'll take a picture of it so you other guys can drool while you wait on yours to get there :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P .

on a serious note, is anyone planning on running a GTB esc with like a 20-22 turn brushless setup? I have one in my custom trophy truck and was looking to save a couple pennies and just buy a bigger turn motor for the CC.

thanks

I have a Dahms bug body that I had mounted on a stampede. I wonder if it will fit ?

If we have the guy in charge responding to this. Then what does he recommend for a combo package ? I WILL be going with a Tekin combo just can't decide a 35T,45T or 55T . Also , it will be a FX-R standard(not pro) and it will be a production run motor not a handwound.
I will also be running it on 7.2 volts.
Thanks,
Raz

BTW" I am just new to this screw type trans and don't know how the motors will react to it.

I can read your post and hear the Aussie accent,,,(which I dig) !!!!! If you get thru all 60 sum pages here you will find the answer in detail . BUt off the top of my head the team drivers have used both motors. The brushed setup was something like a 35T handwound motor , 16 to 18 tooth pinion , with 3s lipo batteries. The usuall top of the line esc have been recommended, goat, sidewinder, Tekin, mamba etc. Keep in mind that the worm gears in the final drive will not turn when there is no power to them so they are the best brakes you can get so with that you just need to get an esc that fits your other needs (brushed, brushless, lipo cutoff etc) instead of fancy drag brake set-ups.
On another note I have a friend that when I first met her I asked if she was from Oz (cuz of her accent). She was not happy about the assumtion and was quick to tell me she was from New Zealand,,,what's up with that,,,a little rub between the two? soccer rivals maybe?:-P

she probably got upset due to country loyalty.
new zealand is australia's canada, and I'm sure our brothers in canukistan don't apreciate being asked if they are yanks as much as my cousin in oregon hates people on the east coast who think everything north of california is canada
