LOSI 1/24 Scale Micro Crawler

Why do they call them static bodies. I use to put models
together when I was a kid but I never heard that term
before

Because they don't move? At least under their own power. You can always toss them across the room.

I cant wait to get one of these. Having a bnd version of this was a great idea. I can see myself getting at least two, maybe three of these for the price. I have a tamiya montero body that will look great on it. Would also like to do a Tahoe and a 4runner.

I'm hoping big company's will start making tires, and lexan bodies for this... I want to start a little class here with my friends. I think that would be freaking awesome! Super cheap too...

I'm already thinking of how to design the course; Bridges, water, and concrete are in mines future

I also hope that RC4WD will jump on board and make some scale tires for these! Imagine some mud slingers, X-locks, or Rok locs on this little thing.

Rich or one of the other team drivers, a question for you. It mentions on Losi's website that the width is 3.5". Am I correct in assuming this is the track width (outside tire to outside tire) or was that taken somewhere else of the rig?

Im super stoked about this crawler i have a 1/24th scale 92 toyota truck body allready in the works to make a scale tuber. CANT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ME TOO!!! lol i have a course set up and pulled all my old models out and have already started building"thumbsup"

Runtime with the stock battery will be around 10-12 inutes.

The Losi Micro Lipo 2c will work with the stock ESC and give about 5 more minutes of runtime.

Is that what others are getting? About 10-12 mins with the stock battery?
The Losi Micro Lipo 2C seems like a good buy to get 50% more runtime.

So, if you have the new 1/24, what's your runtime?
How long does it take to recharge?

Didn't take time to read the entire thread so excuse me if it's already been mentioned, but will these not be perfect for the cheap plaster courses that many tried with the MRC? Seems like the scale and weight would be small enough to not tear it up too much. Start with some paper/ cardboard trash, add some plaster, and finish with some fleck-stone paint. Can't wait to hook up this little micro. "thumbsup"

Micro Crawler Course

I plan to take a sheet of plywood, cut a hole in the middle, stretch chicken wire over it loosely and tack it down on the edges. Then, I will fill it with rigid 'trash' material for filler (plastic bottles, cardboard boxes etc.) and replace the wood that I cut out with another, smaller panel of plywood. After everything is arranged to look like 'mountainous terrain' I will trowel on a fairly thin layer of concrete to cover the wire and make it look more like rock...instant micro crawler course that I can move around. "thumbsup"

I've never done this before, but a friend did something similar to make a scale mountain for our 1:16 tank battlefield, so I think the idea is solid. If it does work out, I may make two or three to set side-by-side or end-to-end to make it wider and/or longer.

I tried something like this awhile back but the cement kept flaking off all over the place. Flaked rather easy and made a mess every time I crawled.

Really?!? Our little mountain has been outdoors in the Texas sun all summer long and still looks like the day he brought it out, other than some discoloration.

Spray foam insulation works good for making micro courses. That is what I used for my xmods and ssmt's.

I like that course, Mauler. "thumbsup" I generally think of rocks as jagged, but those look like real, smooth rocks in a dry river bed or something. I bet that a combination of both tecniques and some model railroad details would go a long way for this Losi micro course!!!
