Had to poke around on the inside. I can't leave anything alone.....
Pulled the rear axle apart.
All that lube was in there. Good deal. There are in fact, 5 or 6 shims on EITHER side of the worm. However mine had about +/- 5 thousandths play already so I left it alone. Probably best to check it. You can't check out at the axles as they have about 10thou there too. Added more lube, put it back together.
Trans teardown. This thing is a trip.
I got #775. Had to remove the sticker to open her up.
Idler gear and slipper.
The slipper is TINY, smaller than a dime. No spring. So no true adjustment as you're relying on the locknut for all the tension.
She's apart.
Now HERE is something depressing.....
The output is solid steel. The inner part of the dig is P L A S T I C! wtf? No wonder they said, avoid shifting on the fly. DEFINITELY listen to them when they tell you this!
