i have losi rock claws and i have star cut foams and i narrowed them also but the rock claws dont have that great of sidewall what is the best way to cut foams for rock claws thanks

From what I've read, the stock foams work good uncut. I haven't been able to test mine out as it's been wet and muddy since I've gotten them.

I tried my losi rock claws today with stock foams in them uncut and i didn't care much for them. I think they were to stiff. I took them out and "star" cut the foams and left the width alone and they are much better i think. Everyone has there own preference though.

I narrow the stock foams a bit, no stars. Then I make sure that the foam slides over the wheel without any compressing it outwards. If it doesn't fit I cut some of the inner diameter out. I have tried a lot of foam setups and this works best for me.

why dont you want it to be tight on the wheel justgiveereh?

Helps it give a little more, I think.. Also, memory foam this time of year gets really hard and I honestly like the stock foam better than memory in any temp.

All I do is narrow the foams. Just a hair wider than the wheel.

mine are opposite. i like my foams wide to give the tire plenty of sidewall support, but I do a "half" star cut. "Half" being that I do not cut my star very deep, only about 1/4" deep.

Really???? I haven't noticed that at all. I crawled yesterday and it was about 40 degrees out.
40* isnt that bad, here in Utah when we crawl it is anywhere from 30* to 11* and at that temp they get really stiff. Thats why Justgiveereh said what he did "thumbsup" At that temp it even makes us stiff...wait that didnt sound right:shock::lol:

is i use axial foams and cut them down a littler on the sides will they still get enought flex because right now i have 2 much if i go up something that is a 90* angle than my back tires start to bind and they catch on my locked out knucles and also i have no sidewall if im sidways on a hill my tire flexes down to the bead lock
