Is anyone running Rock Claws on a trail rig? I was thinking of Masher 2000s but I do like the looks of the Rock Claws. Does anyone have experience with these on other surfaces than rocks?

I am building a Wheely King if it matters.

Thanks guys.

These tires are great all around tires. But if you are doing a trail truck why not go with the RC4WD mudslingers or rock stompers. They are awesome looking tires and perfrom great for a trail rig too The 2.2 rock stompers are really tall so make sure you have clearance, and the muslingers are a little taller than the Losi Rock Claws

I was thinking those 2 because of price. The RC4WD tires are almost twice as much ($28/set vs $50/set). Are they that much better?

If nobody is running Rock Claws on trail rigs, what are they running?

Thanks for the reply.

So you have to cut the small lugs out to get better performance? I really don't want to have to do that.

Have you run both the mudslingers and the rock claws? I am just looking for some comparison info.

I cut the lugs out more for apperance than performance.

The losi tires r alot morer capable of a tire on the rocks not dirt or other terrain. The mudslingers aso look alot better."thumbsup"

The reason they are telling you to run those is because they look scale. The losi's are comp tires and look nothing like a scale tire."thumbsup"

Oh, sorry guys. I should have specified that I am not going for scale at all. Just a good all around performer. I want to be able to crawl, hill climb, mud bog, whatever. If it doesn't look scale, thats no problem.

Thanks for the help, and sorry for the confusion.

sounds like Masher 2ks will work best for you . they are a good all around tire . just turn them around and run them backwards "thumbsup"

Thanks Badd. I am pretty much decided on the M2Ks now.

Is there a huge difference between the M2 and M3 versions? Is the better traction worth the faster wear with the M3s?

Thanks for all the help guys.

Get the 3K as the extra grip is well worth the little bit faster wear. The wear hasnt really been a problem for me . Still looking new after many hours of abbuse.

I think the Losi Claws look pretty darn scale and perform great on rocks and dirt. I've not got tem in the mud yet. They are a really good trail rig tire. "thumbsup"
I love them on Bumblebee.

I would second that.

If your looking for a VERY capable tire for the scale rig, then the Losi is a great option. They also look great reduced to a 1.9 ;-)

I love mine!

The Bumblebee looks awesome! I got a little concerned about the fast wear that I heard something about.

I've got a set on Bumblebee and my comp rig. They show wear really quick at first, then it slows down a little. So far, the lugs are getting rounded off but not much faster than I noticed with my M2 Moabs.
Thanks for the compliment. 8)
You should have seen Bumblebee as a truck puller!!! That was awsome!! I would say they get traction on Dirt.
"thumbsup" That was a fun day. Yeah, they got some hook in the dirt fo sho."thumbsup" Full pull!
