Losi Xcelorin Sensored ESC/Motor Combo for the MRC!

Map pricing is $159. im breaking gears, cvd's, and stampede shafts at will with a 16 tooth pinion and a 2s lipo. ive had the mongoose before and i just didnt like it
Key term being "MAP". There are retailers that don't follow that.

So why did you not like the mongoose? You just prefer brushed

the losi system is brushless aswell. my biggest gripe with the mongoose was the inconsistent drag brake. sometimes it worked sometimes it didnt, if i unpluged the truck and plugged it back in it would work. my mongoose also had a low end cog to it when i ran any expo on the radio. i like alot of expo set so that just didnt work for me

I'm guessing your running this system from your sign. and previous part breakage post. Is this system the ticket? Better feel, power, and comfort than say HH torque mini or similar?

I myself feal the goose leaves much to be desired when it comes to drage brake,I want precision controle in those difficult spots. I always have to hope its gonna hold.

but the esc on the goose will run a brushed motor, thats a plus to me.

will the new losi esc go brushed?

before this system i have ran the HH motor, a mini slider motor, a hand wound 33t from motorman1600, and a mongoose system. in my opinion its got more power then all of them and is just as smooth if not smoother then all of the above.

im not sure what you mean by comfort?

I've got this system in my new mini, and it feels great. I haven't had a mongoose for a while, but the Losi system feels like it has considerably more torque. I can break gears at will if I try to force the rig into a spot it shouldn't be in  I'm currently running 14/58 gearing, and I will probably jump up a few more teeth on the pinion for my comp this Saturday.

Hows the drag brake? That is the only thing i don't like about the mongoose.

This system has struck my interest. I've been reading up on it and looking through the manual. I have a question. Why is there two "worm-drive" profiles? I know the MRC isn't worm-drive. What's up w/ that? Will this be used in something else w/ worm-drive? I know it's too big for the McRC. Maybe a new MRC!?

i got one of these little things two days ago.......wow!!!!!.....big difference over stock....well worth the money $129 at lhs. the drag brake is excellent....you can set it at 100 percent and the truck will not budge... i would definetly recommend this to any one who wants brushless"thumbsup"

Have you used the hh motor for a comparison? Hh micro plus micro sidewinder vs new excelerion package?

wheel speed is not fast...but enough to clear gaps in the rocks....
i havent tried the hh motor yet, but i have had the mongoose and i have to say that this is better, the drag brake and the wheel speed out perform the mongoose, but thats just my two cents

So less wheel speed than the mongoose but more than stock?

bout the same whell speed as a mongoose......nothing impressive....but it is a rock crawler.....but the drag brake makes it better than the mongoose.....again just my opinion, and you know what they say about opinions

Gear up!

I'm running 15/58 and I could stand to go faster. The little Xcelorin still has plenty of torque. I'm not sure what gearing Nabil is running, but his rig looked like it has great wheelspeed.

Just for kicks I geared mine 20/58 last night

The little Xcelorin still had plenty of torque and low end control. It got warm enough to be felt above air temp after about 20 minutes of bashing, but it never got scorching hot. I'll probably run next week's Socalrcrc series comp with it geared up.
