Key term being "MAP". There are retailers that don't follow that.Map pricing is $159. im breaking gears, cvd's, and stampede shafts at will with a 16 tooth pinion and a 2s lipo. ive had the mongoose before and i just didnt like it

So why did you not like the mongoose? You just prefer brushed
the losi system is brushless aswell. my biggest gripe with the mongoose was the inconsistent drag brake. sometimes it worked sometimes it didnt, if i unpluged the truck and plugged it back in it would work. my mongoose also had a low end cog to it when i ran any expo on the radio. i like alot of expo set so that just didnt work for me
I'm guessing your running this system from your sign. and previous part breakage post. Is this system the ticket? Better feel, power, and comfort than say HH torque mini or similar?
I myself feal the goose leaves much to be desired when it comes to drage brake,I want precision controle in those difficult spots. I always have to hope its gonna hold.
but the esc on the goose will run a brushed motor, thats a plus to me.
will the new losi esc go brushed?
im not sure i will look into it when i get out of class
I've got this system in my new mini, and it feels great. I haven't had a mongoose for a while, but the Losi system feels like it has considerably more torque. I can break gears at will if I try to force the rig into a spot it shouldn't be in  I'm currently running 14/58 gearing, and I will probably jump up a few more teeth on the pinion for my comp this Saturday.
wheel speed is not fast...but enough to clear gaps in the rocks....
i havent tried the hh motor yet, but i have had the mongoose and i have to say that this is better, the drag brake and the wheel speed out perform the mongoose, but thats just my two cents
