Well they finally arrived. Aftermarket Losi shocks, all aluminum and they are pretty beefy. Here is how they compare to the the stock RTR shocks.

After installing the front shocks, I got to say it is feels great. Full height and plush feeling. I still have to take it out and tune it in. The silver springs that came with it are pretty stiff. I already had the black Raven progressive springs on hand and put those in after testing it with the silver springs.

Your right they are close but they do clear with an extra spacer. And I could probably add another.

I also added a washer on the bottom to help keep it out.

My front end finally feels great and plush like some of the other rigs Ive seen. She's a pig but this finally makes up for it. Ive been hitting a lot of jumps and hopefully this will alleviate the pain.

You mentioned these are aftermarket: are they not Losi-branded shocks? Where did you get them from?

These are the stock shocks from Losi for the XXL2.

At the time, they were sold out everywhere but I found on ebay an aftermarket shock:

ALUMINUM OIL SHOCK DAMPER BS TEAM LOSI 1/8 LST1 LST2 XXL AFTERSHOCK LST 2 SAVAGE

They are actually slightly cheaper for all four and they are all aluminum where the stock Losi ones look like an aluminum body and shaft but everything else is plastic. They are coming from China so it did take two weeks to get in.

Jenny's is usualy cheaper than DH. But in this case is half the price!!!

I don't have a before picture to compare to but I have full extension on my front end now. When I finally put the body down on the body posts it fits snug to the top. It definitely wasn't like that before. Also going to change out the rear shocks as well. Waiting on some shock oil and longer screws to make it work. The shocks come pre-filled with oil but it doesnt state what weight. If I had to guess it is about 35.
