M4 Bent Rod Ends

Losi Comp Crawler steering rod ends, drill em out to 4mm.

I have seen a few people say that the ckrc bent links are 50*, they are not 50*, they are 50%, which means they are bent in the middle. Looks like they are closer to a 30* bend.

I ordered 20 of the RC4WD Bent M3 Rod Ends and about 3-4 of them were too big for my M3 hardware. I'll have to search my parts box but I'll check if they're actually M4 or not and let you know.

EDIT: My mistake, it was the straight ones that had a couple M4 mixed in, not the bent ones. Maybe give RC4WD a call and see if they can make some, I'm sure they'll sell enough to make it worthwhile.

Here's a picture of them both, M3 bent on the left and M4 straight on the right. I don't think they're big enough to drill out to 4mm, there wouldn't be enough wall thickness left. Good luck and let us know if you do find some, I could use some too.

4mm bent rod ends

Thanks for all the help. I thought I was going crazy not being able to find them. I will contact RC4wd and make the suggestion. We ae a dealer of their products and they have an awesome sales rep who's really helpful. I'll post any more info I get.

4mm Bent Rod Ends

Alright Guys, so I talked to the Sales Rep at RC4WD. He says that if they get enough requests for metal 4mm bent rod ends, they will produce them. They have never heard of them & were wondering what we want them for!
So, e-mail them at rcrock@rc4wd.com attention "Tom". Let's get the ball rolling and make this happen...
Thanks again to everybody for all your input.

Email sent, hopefully they get enough response to warrant producing them. Also, please don't just send a quick email if you seriously want some, they're more likely to listen if we provide details and not just a bunch of generic emails.....

Hi, I've been participating in a thread on RCCrawler.com about the need for M4 bent metal rod ends and heard you were curious how many people would be interested in them. Here is the thread in question.

I have previously ordered 20 of the M3 ones and they work great on links that aren't perpendicular to the mounting screw. Usually lower links and steering tie-rods but there's many other uses for them. I've broken off at least half a dozen M3 grub screws inside them and can no longer use those ones. It would help a lot to have them made with M4 threads to be stronger and less prone to breakage, the extra diameter of the rod ends wouldn't affect their performance as we usually mount them to 5/16" delrin rod anyway. I have various pictures of how I use them if you'd like, let me know and I can email them over. Thanks for listening to your customers and considering our needs, I've always been impressed with RC4WD products and customer service and will continue to order many products and parts as they are always well made and backed by a good company. Cheers,

Here's the reply, kind of discouraging but I do see his point.....

Hey Rob,
Thanks for the link. I really do only see two people asking for these in the thread. That is not enough to warrant making 5000 of these. That is our minimum when it comes to rod ends.

Sorry and thanks for supporting us.

Tom
