Have not seen a thread on the Mad Crusher, the last iteration of the Kyosho Mad Force trucks!

Finally Kyosho has realized the flexible radius arms where junk and engineered the new trucks with a factory 4-link suspension plus Panhard front and rear.
It's based on the classic Mad axles, and the FOXX style black tvp chassis.
Good news, the full 4 link setup is also available as a conversion kit for older trucks, Kyosho MAW022.

I have ordered it yet and plan to convert one of the Twins to the new setup!

i have one. only one run it tho. kyosho didnt loctite anything on the truck.

And apart from loctite issues, how do you feel the suspension works?
Have Kyosho engineers made their homeworks this time?

i guess it depends on what you are comparing it to. its kind of its own thing. it handles good for a straight axle mt. i have seen a couple of issues where the front links have broken on a lawn dart style jump.

Hey Twisted would you be so kind to measure for me the wheels size? Cannot find any info on them, it would be nice if they are 1.9 or 2.2 or anyway compatible with other aftermarket scaler/crawler tires !
:)

Not sure about the wheels but the hexes are 17mm so no go on 1.9 or 2.2 just bolted on. if you want to run 1.9 or 2.2 I vote for the Dlux option. WhiteTrash will approve of my plug and EeePee will hate it."thumbsup"

and an update on my truck. i hit a break the other day with it and took out the front end. broke the axle tube, four link and four link mount.

Cmbscx10, thanks for the suggestion, I'll have a look, didn't know that option "thumbsup"

Twisted, ouch that's a lot of carnage! How did you happen such crash? Bad landing?

hit a brick at full speed lol.

There was a youtube video review I saw shortly after release and the truck broke the front axle off in an awkward landing at a track. It was pretty catastrophic. Funny thing is the video must have been taken down because I can't find it now.

Anyway based on that video and this thread, I think these things may have a flawed suspension design. It's a shame because they're pretty cool looking. Does anyone know if the old two-link design had similar issues?

I have this truck and its awesome.... looking.....
I replaced the Esc and motor with a sensored set up and it improved it heaps. However, I would not run more then 4S.
I have clocked it at 44kph on 4s which is nimble for what it is. However the truck is not for pavement... one blip on the brake and it endo'd and trashed the body(on the stock esc out of the box).

All this being said, I LOVE THIS TRUCK it drives like a real truck with this set up would, keep it slow, keep it fun and its super rewarding.

Next plan is find a way to lock the diffs, and try out some crawling

any suggestions? maybe blue-tack? can I buy a spool somewhere? if i use hot glue, will i be able to get it out again?

open to ideas

thanks guys

For locking the diffs, I'd recommend grabbing a complete spare diff off ebay or dollarhobbyz, clean it all out and fill it with JB weld. I've locked 4 mad force diffs with it and have yet to even get any slop from them.

I've actually had trouble finding the diffs... Any links?

yup that was a review video by rcnetwork. they (kyosho) took or wanted the video down and took the truck back as well rcnetwork told me. i still bought one and i see no reason that the old 2 link wouldnt fit. you would also needf the old style steering.

I like the look and layout of this truck might pick one up just to add to the mad force collection. Finally a source of light weight 17mm 2.2 wheels!

i think 1/8 th power is a way too much for this ones 4 link, i like the 2200kv power on the fo-xx layout but this one should have a 1/10 scale crawler motor and a few other crawler type features and it would most likely get much better reviews and sell better too.

At least you never need to worry about breaking and upgrading the axles, like most crawlers.

I have an 1800kv Castle 8th scale sensored motor with a 120 6s sensored esc, and on 4s its ace. This truck is also sexy af.
