Mars Rover touchdown August 8, 2012

Its small minded ignorant people like you that make me despair for the future of humanity.

Says the socialist who wants the government to take care of them."thumbsup"

Yeah and being up to your eyeballs in MASSIVE amounts of debt is good for the "Future of Humanity". Your so worried about the future but you can't see the big ****ing elephant sitting next to you killing the future.(oh wait you and your country ain't responsible for the debt anyway so...)

Send Nasa some funds out of your pocket to help keep them going instead of sitting up in Canada on your ass and whining aboot it.

what you are saying is you want to stop the pursuit of knowledge, because it costs money.

NASA didn't put us into debt, and cutting their funding will not take us out.

Here's your elephant in the room...

FWIW: NASA's entire budget since its inception is only just a hair bit higher than what we spent fighting in Vietnam.

They are very very small piece of the pie. When you run deficits every year and keep paying out money you have to borrow to organizations (like Nasa) they are still part of the fiscal problem. I agree there are other places that should have been cut before Nasa however that is an area where you can make one cut so do it. All the small cuts and several larger cuts will add up. Once things are balanced and debt reduced more can be put into areas like Nasa. There are a lot of smart people in Nasa they should have income generation not solely based on government monies.

Every dime the government spends has to come from somewhere and be be paid for. Sometimes that is forgotten.

The "elephant" is the national debt and other unfunded liabilities. I thought you were smart enough to realize that.

Sorry, but I absolutely did not."thumbsup"

I though you did. A huge apology from me then. My bad.

you are arguing about 4/10ths of 1% from a tax dollar, which is spent on the pursuit of knowledge and discovery so yes that does help us down here.
cell phones and gps navigation are the obvious examples. artificial limbs and water filters all spinoffs from space exploration.

you are calling me a socialist in one breath and with the next you say we should use our tax dollars for helping people here on earth? wtf is up with that?

sounds like someone has a hidden agenda perhaps one of a religious background wanting to oppress scientist and human progress like in the dark ages?

Welfare is a waste, not NASA.

"GIVE A MAN A FISH, HE EATS FOR A DAY. TEACH HIM HOW TO FISH, HE EATS FOR LIFE."

I would add another line, "If he doesn't want to fish, then let him starve." Most of the Welfare goes to those who "know how to fish", but don't want to. Why should I or anyone else be held back from a better life via the technological advances of NASA because dumbasses are to lazy to "fish for their own food"?

ah yes, the selfish world of ME ME ME only I am allowed to benefit from government spending.

I don't get a free lunch, and don't appreciate being forced to buy someone else's. Those who contribute should be those rewarded, not JUST me.

Welfare, fighting the UN's battles for them, and paying for Barry and his family to travel all over the world is putting us into debt not NASA. Kids gotta have something to dream about. Who didn't dream about going into space as a kid? I would love to see us land another man on the moon in my lifetime.

Barry just spends more and faster than any other before him. This data is several months old and Barry has since surpassed Bush's 8 year total in less than 3 and a half years. A vast majority of that spending has gone into the massive exspansion of government.

Debt increase in 1141 days of Obama Admin: $4,872,146,580,769.36

$4,270,067,117.24 a day.

Debt increase in 2922 days of G.W. Bush Admin: $4,899,100,310,608.44

$1,676,625,705.20 a day.

Neither one should be in any way proud of the massive debt they incurred, but Obama's spending is off the chart and we haven't even seen the cost of Obamacare yet.
