Marzzz's Minimal build

Fuel tube or pen springs. I like the pen springs because they suck the chassis down real nice, limit the shocks, but still give you articulation.

I still don't think there are better shocks than the 3.5 big bores. I do have a set of egresor body's coming from rcbros when they are ready. Then ill see if anything compares.

i have Ti links also from Chaotic just didnt get a chance yet. I need 2 more cross members, to go behind them. Travis gave me some ideas on limiting the shocks internally, just have to figure out whats best to do that. I was telling him I used to use fuel
tubing back in the day.....wondering what the trend was these days?

I got your back on the shock limiters. Nick (BTF) turned me on to some nylon spacers that fit the scx10 shocks perfectly. Theyre super cheap and pre-cut to precise lengths. I'll send you some links to where you can find them. Fuel tubing works and just like everyone else, I used it forever, but once i started using these nylon spacers I found that it gave the rig more precise feel. Cutting the shocks down (body and shaft) is certainly the right way to do it, but it is a pretty tricky process.

Are the upper links bent or straight? 1/8" or 3/16"?

I'm with Hittman on this one. I like the pen springs (if I was to use springs at all on or in my shocks, which I don't).

Good work Marsha.. the only limiting I use is in the rear of my sporty. Internal pen springs with silver mini springs externally. Keeps the rear low until it needs to drop out plus the limiting factor when the shock fully extends.. you've seen how it works...

Which was also Christian's ideerrr

uppers are staight, same size as lowers.
Thanks for the input guys......i probably have the stock limiters from the kits..or fuel tubing. Lol, as far as buying anything else i am cut off. So I have to go with what I have.
Troy I am cool with Marsha, she was hot. I will just call you Alice or Mr. Brady, we all know about him!

My scx10 shocks
Front
7.5mm internal spacer. (Axail plastic hollow ball) mini-t silver springs.
Rear
Cut shock bodies (to lower ride height) traxxas slash front shock shafts, external limiter 7.5mm (axail plastic hollow ball) Mrc silver sprigs.
CI spring cups F&R

Ride height
Front
2.8"
Rear
3.25"

Works for me. Still tuning in progress but this is where I'm @ now.

well update time. due to my sucky job and schedule I procrastinated until the night before the comp today to finish my build. I couldnt get my micro sidewinders ready so I stole my brxls and electronics temporarily from my old 2.2pro rig. Had crawllife paint my Deringer and I slapped it all together.
I had a good day at the comp, considering i did no testing at all. Had a 33 total for the day on 3 courses, could have done better but I made some stupid driver errors aka brain farts. The rig felt really great considering, I have some tweaks to make so time will tell. here are a couple pics....I know there is some videos out there, hopefully soon. Thanks to 5th D for a simple design that appears to work awesome, even for a shabby builder like me."thumbsup"

Oh their is video! I had to get this on film for the 5th D crew.. tho the pics might do it better justice! :D
Unfortunately I missed his best course, but I'll get the other 2 up when I get them downloaded..

I was impressed with the chassis setup and drop out for running upside down. I can't wait to see it in action once Dave gets the Monster electronics switched out of the chassis and dialed in, with some drive time as well..

It ran well Dave considering you put it together the night before. Getting this dialed in should not take too much work, looked like it needed a bit more weight up front and some different shock oil and you are ready to rock and roll."thumbsup"
