mini giant crawler

I am planning on getting one of these guys pretty soon. I had started a 1:24 scale truck 2 years ago powered by a 540 motor, and it never came to be:

I want to resurrect my Pebble Crawler using the VMG axles.

Anyway, your link doesn't work, but I am interested in seeing it.

man plays_with_toys i remember lookin at that at tinyrc. What happened to that thing? and what did you use for axles?

I used this toy RC that I had originally found in Germany, but I found another one in the US while building it, and was going to run 4WS using the two front axles. The downfall was the driveline. I couldn't get the driveline into the axle correct, as it originally was shaft driven from the top of the axle, and in the center tranny, my splitter that was to send the torque front/rear was too high up and hit the motor, and was flimsy. It was disheartening to spend so much time and money on it and have it not work. Maybe I'll use the chassis but drop the VMG tranny in.

I scoped out t6he VMG in person today, really only from above in the box, but its the perfect size. Should have mine by next week.

do you still have the axles? do you know what the toy was called and who made it? also would you be interested in sellin the axles if you still have them?

Pede, I have the axles, though one of the front ones has now been modified quite a bit, and I still have an entire toy put together. I'd be willing to sell it, but I want to keep one set of tires.

We are digressing though from Brutal's topic, so PM me if you want more info. Brutal, anyway you can put a pic or two on www.imageshack.us? Everytime I try to access rcpics, even the mainsite, It has a server error.

I just bought one!!!! WOOOOOT! This thing is an absolute BLAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Those tires do fit, but are hard as rock compared to the VMG tires, gonna soak a set in simple green for a while and see if I can soften them. Anyway, now I am really interested in seeing your VMC.

thanks for posting those pedesrule. this was a short discription i posted on another site: "ok here it goes...at first i used the stock mini t dogbones and rpm links to extend the wheelbase, but that ended up striping the cups on the axle. so now im using the mini t cvd's. i had to finish grinding down the mg stock cups, then cut and ground mini t dogbone cups to fit inside the mg cups. for the other end, i hollowed out one of the stock mg red links and the trani gear, put the red link through the trani gear (screwed that in place) then put the cvd's into the red link. after extending the wheelbase with the rpm links and extending the dogbones, i was able to lay my shocks (losi mini t oil shocks) at more of an angle to get full compression. i also fliped the receiver upside down and mounted it inside the chassis (after the servo mod). so now there is nothing at all on the top of the chassis. i narrowed the wheels and tires about 3/4 of and inch by cutting off the two outer beeds on the wheel. then i wraped a thick hair band around the inner beed so they would sit even thiner and taller. i also put a mini t bearing on the axle before the black hex nut, after cutting the beeds and using the bearings it extended the wheelbase about 1/2 of an inch wider on each side. also with a bit of grinding on the motor plate, i am now running a mabuchi speed 400 motor (really really awesome motor for only $8.90). its running awesome now, it's geared perfect, has plenty of speed and is an incredable crawler. " ill be happy to answer any other questions you have.
