mega 2 year bump

I noticed one of the rigs in the video with open diffs:?: while it was on its side. (1:32) I also think I noticed it dig shortly after. (2:00)

What is the usual powertrain set-up for a rock racer? Why use open diffs?

just wondering.

It's a ARB air actuated locking differential. You can lock or unlock it with the flip of a switch. It allows faster sharper turns when it's unlocked. Someone just forgot to turn it back on when the car went on it's side.

I was there as well.

I loved watching that yellow Toyota self destruct on that rock. I think he tried just about every angle before it went poof.

Great vid and I loved the Rhino at the end.

BTW: my Jeep went poof the same trip... Like $16k worth of poof.
