More Whining about Craigslist

MIM=manufactured in mexico? Kidding. Work with a kid who's on c-list constantly. Comes up to me 50 times a day wanting me to look at pics. of trucks he can't afford. Wastes people time responding to adds all the time. It's a
unrealistic/living beyond their means society.

What's wrong with asking if its still available? I pretty much start all my inquiries that way. Sounds like you have alot of personal standards you want everyone else to live up to. I guess if they have the cash and you want the cash you will deal with the people being people.

For everything I have ever sold on CL, I would say that 99.9% of people who initially ask if it's still available are tire kickers. The few that I used to respond to turn out to be scammers from Nigeria or spammers fishing for an email address.

I don't respond to those anymore. I post it as well, but if the ad is still up, then whatever it is I'm selling, is available.

It's stupid how many people turn into blithering idiots when shopping craigslist.

Hey... aren't you the guy I met that time cause I asked "is it still available" and "can you meet me somewhere?"

Ended up buying the item AND meeting someone from the forums too.

How about that "thumbsup"

One of the top scams on Craigslist is to ask "Is it still available" so that you answer the inquiry and then they sell your email address. A simple script can sent a few hundred thousand "Is it still available" messages in a matter of minutes. Answer them, your spam goes up.

As I state, I WILL NOT answer those emails. Text me with valid questions, call me with real questions, email me with your name and number and I will call you. I don't need the money, I need room. But I would rather and have in the past given something away rather than deal with questionable messages.

My stuff, my choice.

Exactly. A Musicians term as only Taylors and Fenders (of the big names) have a Mexico plant. Most companies foreign made stuff come out of Indonesia and China. And it is not an official name as you will never here Fender reps say it. Personally, I don't care. I will buy Mexican, American or Canadian happily. I also will buy the Made In Japan Fenders and Taks. Have a MIJ Paisley Tele and it plays as good as any American Tele.

i got a gem of a stupid question today. before i put that old white truck on here for sale, i put it up in the local craigslist. got nothing but scam offers from cl, but today i got the golden goose of idiocy. a little background, the truck hasn't moved since Reagan was in office, and is sold as a non-running resto project. my dad picked it up at auction when he and the banker went (never did find out what he paid for it).

Could you tell me if you are the original owner and has the vehicle been in any accidents? Where are you located and do you have one of those vehicle history reports such as a carfax or carautofax history reports. There may be other types too.

i know this is a scam from the word go, but that's a question so utterly stupid that my brain hurts thinking about it.

Hey that's right, you bought my guitar pedal, Hahaha. Then we had to meet back up because I forgot the powersupply. Im actually trading my bass to a guy tonight for his guitar....so....Im gunna need that pedal back. Mkay.

Once I knew a guy that had an alright Subaru legacy and he was building a drift car and needed some Simpson harnesses that I had from a mud truck project I never finished, so I looked at the car and it had a few dings and dents and the interior wasn't perfect but I traded him both sets for it no cash involved and this was right when It was getting to the rainy season started hitting us so of course I had a muddy field and an AWD car so I rallied that thing like no other and never hurt it just did heavy driving. Anyways I decided I wanted it gone and put it on Craigslist for only 350$ OBO! I mean for a running driving halfway nice car you can't beat that price! And I got a handful of idiots including one Mexican that wanted to trade a fawking goat for a car! And the rest wanted to give me 100$ I just couldn't believe it, that's the last time I ever did Craigslist. That's my story :lmao:
